It's actually not a picture, but a copy of a check (probably for bags) from a famous Hollywood star. (Hopefully I did this right and it will show up!) Hopefully we won't get in trouble for this. Complements of Charles Richard Lester. He sent me some great stuff for picture of the day, but I had to put this one at the front of the line. Enjoy! Thanks Charles, hopefully you are back with us!

I'm dumb founded at the moment

Please refresh my memory who is Ellenor Powell? Was she the neighbor in the I love Lucy Show?

Skip...

Also, Check out This Link From Wikpedia

This was probably a check that she used to pay for bags for her Electrolux out of her office in Beverly Hills. You guys need an education on Hollywood stars. Anyone who doesn't know who danced in the fabulous movies with Fred Astaire need some education. I know the Lux office she probably bought these from. . .

i was thinking she was the one who did all the swimming movies, or the one with dark hair who was at Metro in the 50s

And I doubt she had a Model L

but more likely the deluxe 1205! Come on now, this was a movie star's vacuum cleaner!

can you believe the guy at the Electrolux office was so tacky as to ask her for her phone number?! See it written in red at the top -- as if her check was gonna bounce!!

Hollywoodland

Lucy's neighbor in NYC- Ethel Mertz played by Vivian Vance
Lucy's neighbor in Westport- Betty Ramsey played by Mary Jane Croft

Esther Williams did the swimming movies.

David, are you thinking of Jane Russell, the dark haired actress at Metro? I can't think of what studio she was with.

Now how was Jane Powell related to Eleonor? Were they married to the same man at different times?

jane russell was the one with the big t!ts. the one with dark hair has appeared in public fairly recently, with hair tinted a very dark color, and fair skin. i think i have seen her with a scarf tied around her neck.

Eleanor Powell

And a wonderful singing voice as well, her husband Glen Ford passed last week...

I was trying to work out which vac it would be??

When did the 1205 come out??, "$20 is a lot for just bags unless it was a years worth, wonder if she had the machine serviced as well?? in which case it could be an older model...

I`m assuming it wasnt a newish vac because they would have come with a good supply at that time??....
