Ok Royal experts, help me out!

Ok, so I finally won an auction on ebay for a Royal that I bid on, I won a farily decent looking Royal 4000 Classic upright (burgundy color) The metal still looks farily glossy on it and everything else looks good for it being slightly used and only $51.00. Can anyone tell me what year this machine was made? Any good points? Bad points? I like the Royals cuz they are just a retro loooking machine with a very simple design to them. One thing I did notice on it was that it looks like the wheels are pretty scratched and I found a place to get some new ones pretty cheap. Is is hard to replace the wheels on these?

It was made in the early 2000s. It was the ultra high end model with the 10 amp motor.

Good Points:
Cleans Well
Fairly Easy To Repair
Looks Good

Bad Points:
Loud
Bag Gets Heavy and Machine Starts To Lean Sideways
Attachment Conversion is Tricky

Good luck with those wheels. Should be fairly easy to do.

Congrats on the Royal 4000. Royals and rebadged Royals (especially Electro-Hygiene) are some of my favorite vacuums. They're powerful, maneuverable, durable, fairly lightweight, and reasonably priced.
And the attachment setup isn't THAT tricky--you just take off the adjust-o-rite cover, take the belt off the fan shaft, plug in the adapter, and attach the hose (unless you keep the hose connected to the adapter all the time like most folks do), and you're all set. Takes less time to actually do it than it does to describe it!!

I was thinking tricky from the perspective of a non collector. My lists were more from the point of someone who had little experience with that design and what they might encounter. It was based on my experience with the model 996 that I once had.

2 out of 3 of the negitives I listed could be dealt with easily enough if the user bothered to learn to use the machine. That is something most people don't seem to do. Since we are collectors here that should be no problem for any of us, but I decided to list them anyway.
