Now what is your favorite machine. Mine is the Filter Queen 360. Whats yours post a picture if you have one.

Favorites?

It would probably be easier to tell you what vacuums I DON'T like, as most of the vacuums in my collection qualify as my favorites, each one special in its own way. I doubt that I could single out one, but some of my favorites in my collection are Electro-Hygiene models 80 and 903, Kirby D-50, Lux E, G, and XXX, Hoover 28, 29, and 475, Grandma's 82 Connie, and my Aunt's Westinghouse cannister (Robb, it's just like yours, except mine has a replacement hose and 50 yrs. of use on it!). So there you have it, 11 favorites.

I think this is a tough question because everytime I get the opportunity to see or try a different vac it becomes my favorite LOL. There's so many how do you ever know. I always said I liked uprights better but then when I got my Electrolux 89 completed I love it. My Airway is almost complete and I love that now. I think the best way to question this is to say "If you were to be stranded on a desert island and could only have one vacuum and one vacuum only which one would it be? In which case I'd take my Kirby Legend II

My favs have to be my Electrolux Models XXX,G,E,R, Hoover models 28,61,1010,convertable elite, elite, decade, conquest,Aero Dyne model 51 and Constellation, etc...

Favorite Vacuum

Although this vacuum technically isn't vintage "yet" it is still my favorite for many reasons...color, style, power, childhood memories. (I have pictures of me when I was 5 using this very vacuum in my aunt's kitchen).

Logan that is really cool. My grandma has one of those and she even kept the orgional box too. It ahs a electrolux re4placment hose. Yet get this she has never replaced the power nozzle bristles. She really needs to but she says it doesnt so idk. Does the automatic control still work? Im going to maybe be at the convention. I have the sales kit for the marquis but it is just about the same. Maybe we will see yah out there.

Automatic Control

Hi Evan,

The automatic control works fine, but I never let the bag get full enough to trigger it. I replace the bag when it gets almost 1/4 full. I don't like vacuuming with a bag that is half full or more...Not only does the vacuum loose suction but I can just smell the "dirt" it seems.

If you have a chance to do so, I would love to see pictures of the original box your grandmother's vacuum came in. Does she have the owner's manual?

You said you have a sales kit for the Lux Marquis. What is included in the sales kit? Do you mean the owner's manual? I'm very curious. I had a Lux Marquis without attachments that I gave away a few years back.

I let my membership to the club expire (oops) so I need to re-join. So, I may or may not be at the convention. We shall see. If I do come I can just drive; I don't live too far away.

The sales kit is actually really cool. It four stell balls that way half a pound each it has a long clean tube that you attach to the hose that is big enough to suck the wieghts in the tube. You also have a cap to fit over it. YOu put the customers cleaner on the other end and compare it to the electrolux except their is only one steal wieght. Also it included several bleach white cotton cloth that fit where the bag goes to show how nmcuh dirt comes out. Also a cloth bag for both upright and tank. There is also little styrofoam bead that you suck up in the cloth bag. then there is a plate that fits over that shows that the machine has cyclonic tecnology. It is cool when you see it. Umm what else. Oh a plug that shows the automatic control. I also have the salesmen book and also a prduct catologe and a bunch on misc. stuff.

All the lux demo artifacts sound great, sure hope you can come to North Canton and bring them! We had such a great time at
Tom's last summer. We all demo'd and played with vacs for 2 days at our mini meet. Can't waite for the convention. Just
put in for vaction for Thur-Wed. the next week !

Hoover commercial range.

Hi guys and gals,

My favourite machines have to be the Hoover commercial models, with the 912, 912a, and U7008 coming top of the list.

The UK version of the 90, 91, 913, 918 e.t.c.

I would love to see some really decent pictures of the model 90. Jeffs vid from the heritage center of the unused 1940 model 90 is an absolute treasure!

Happy hoovering,

Clark.

Hey I thihnk the swivel tops are also great. They are really good machines. we had one. Themachine taht started me collecting (well i always collected but my first vintage was) a electrolux automatic e. I had no clue what automatic e was i didnt even know that the c bags would fit. With taht mahcine i got parts to a air way didnt have a clue what that was. Then I found the vccc article in People magazine or something like that. Then I finally knew Im not the only that collect.
