Sorry I didn't Post about these when I got them or at least a little sooner, but not only have I been VERY Busy with things around the House, I have also been working on a few of my Vacs and well, Playing with my two new one's, lol, which I will show you all some Photos here now, but anyway, I'm sure you all have been there and can understand, especially since I am DESPERATELY trying to plan a little Vacation for myself next Month as well and have NO Idea where I should or can go you you know, so...

And this GORGEOUS Machine Arrived at my front Door Monday Mo

This Friend's is my new ALL Original 1957 Hoover Convertible Model 65 and it's only missing one Part, ONLY ONE PART Guys, the rest of this GLORIOUS 1957 Machine is there and 100% Original to the Unit, even the Headlight Bulb, which still works mind you... ;)

I am TRULY in LOVE with this one, it's my FAVORITE Vac ever and I'm sure you all can see why!!!!!!!! :D

Close up of Hood...

As you can all see, the ONLY Part missing from my Model 65, which was the VERY FIRST Hoover Convertible EVER made BTW, is the Headlight Lens, a Part that is soon to be replaced, SOON to be replaced, VERY SOON... ;)

Also, there is a little bit of Warping to the Hood and there is a TINY Crack in the top from Heat, but you know, it's not very noticeable at all and it's the Original Hood, so I'm keeping it that way, I mean, what choice do I have anyway you know, lol!

Bag Photo...

Yup, as you can see Guys, this is the Original 1957 Vinyl Bag in MINT and I mean MINT, near PERFECT Condition, which is UNBELIEVABLE to say the least, WOW!!!!!!!!

Also Note, how HUGE this Bag Inflates as compared to other Convertible's and notice as well, the UNIQUE shape of this one to, I mean, it's COMPLETELY different from any other Hoover Convertible Bag you know, so my question to all of you is this, is it OK for me to still be using Type C Bags in this one, or because it was the 1st Convertible, did it take a different Type of Disposable Bag, any of you know????

Back of Bag Inflated...

Notice again, the UNIQUE size and shape of this 1957 Vinyl Bag, like for example, look how WIDE it is at the top, when other Convertible's have very Narrow, Small, Skinny Bag's you know... ;)

This one also has the very LOVELY Hoover Logo on the back side of the Bag as well, which I think is just DANDY, lol!

Jim,
Those are two beautiful machines, That model 67 is stunning and will be even better when you find a new lens for it.
Also all of the convertible models took a type C bag, this is no different.
I will try to call you also sometime and we can talk, I am from south of Pittsburgh.
Congratulations again on the great finds,

Sam

Beautiful machines. A word about the warped hood ... this was a problem that was discovered too late apparently, that when the machine is run for a while and heat is generated from the light bulb and the motor, the plastic material the hood is made of begins to melt and warp.

As a collector, it's important not to run these machines for too long at once -- fun as it may be to hear it purr throughout your home, it would be far better to rotate your machines and use several for your big cleaning days. Maybe a different one for each room or something like that.

When Charles mentioned the heat issue, it occoured to me that it might be wise to use a lower wattage light bulb. Say 15w instead of 25. I'm not too sure how much this can help the problem, but I don't think it would hurt anything.

Nice Machines, Jim!

Hope you are able to find the lens for the 65 soon. It looks good now but will look even better with the lens. And what model is the orange one?
Jeff

OK Guys, I'm up now, I'm Awake, lol!

Yeah, it's true, I've been Asleep all this time, lol! I should actually be out trying to Rebuild my Car, after it was Stolen and Trashed a little over two Years ago, but right now, at this time, I think it may be a lost cause. :( Having SEVERE Depression doesn't help the Situation either. :(

Anyway, enough about that, John, I'm GLAD to hear you are gonna Call me sometime soon, as we haven't talked in so long and have A LOT to talk about and catch up on you know, but don't worry, I understand about your Exchange Students from Italy, so no big Rush, Call when you can, I'll be here... ;) I'm real glad to hear as well, how much you like my two new Convertible's, I thought you would, especially the Model 65, as you know from when we first talked, it has always been my Dream Machine and I now Own it, the VERY FIRST Hoover Convertible EVER made and it's ALL Original to, WOO!!!!!!!! :D

Sam, I would LOVE to talk to you as well, so as I said with John, Call when you have the time and all, as I'll be here... ;) Then again, when you are on Disability like I am and your BELOVED Car was Stolen and Trashed, it's HARD to get out much you know, which is why I'm having such a HARD time trying to figure out where I can go on Vacation next Month you know. :( Oh well, if it wasn't for all that, I wouldn't have started my Vintage Vacuum Collection you know... ;)

BTW Sam, my Pink Convertible is NOT a Model 67, it's a 1957 Hoover Convertible Model 65, which if you didn't already know, was the VERY FIRST Hoover Convertible EVER made, thus why I thought it might use a different Type of Disposable Bag... ;) The Model 67, which was made in 1959 I do believe, had a different, Smaller, more Convertible like Bag, plus Aluminum Trim above the Headlight and around the Hoover Medallion, but other then that, I think it was pretty much the same...?

THANKS Charles!!!!!!!! :D

Isn't it AMAZING how my Model 65 was made in 1957 and the ONLY thing's wrong with it, are a slightly Warped Hood and a missing Headlight Lens!!!!!!!! :D Even the Original 1957 Bag only has ONE Hole in it, that's all, so that right there, PROVES that they don't make things like they use to... ;)

Just so you know, I have only really been using my 65 in the Kitchen, as because of the Warped Hood, I don't want it to get any worse you know, plus I want to have this Machine the rest of my life to, not to mention, with only two Height Setting's, it's kinda HARD to Push in the rest of my House, where we have THICK Carpet, lol! This Model 65 is also a little HEAVIER then my other Convertible's to, which is easy to see why... ;)

Jeff and Alan...

I already found a Lens for my 65!!!!!!!! :D The Guy I Bought my 1020 from, Robert, found one in good shape for me, yup, not only did he find me a new Lens for my 1076, but when I told him all about my 65, he said he would look for a Lens and found me one, so HOPEFULLY, both will be Shipped out to me on Monday Morning!!!!!!!! :D

Here is the Photo Robert took and sent me of them both... ;)

BTW, the Orange or Salmon Convertible as I call it, is a Model U4047, which was a 1970's Promo Model with a 1-Speed Motor, so yeah, I guess you could say, it's a little RARE, lol, then again, I could be wrong, as I think Tom here has two, but I'm not 100% sure on that you know, lol!

And yes, that's my very Pretty Kitty Mina you see in that one Photo there, but I also have an older Kitty Named Misty and a 14 Year old Puppy Named Miles... ;)

The Bag...

I thought you all would like to see, the ONLY Damage to my Model 65's Original 1957 Bag... ;)

Here it is, this is the ONLY Damage and I'm not Kidding about that either, which is INCREDIBLE to say the least!!!!!!!!!!!!
