Managed to get part of this thing apart, but I can't figure out how to get the cuff off the hose! Oy!

Once again, Thanks FCS3....
....yet I have another question....I got the cuff off the end that goes into the canister! It needed a bit of coaxing. (I'm trying my best not to force anything. I've been known to break while trying to repair!) SO, I've now tackled the handle/controls end of the hose. I didn't expect to find what I found. As you can see by the photo, the wire is directly connected to a small circuit type board(?) How would I disconnect that? It doesn't seem to me like something that was meant to come off. Am I getting in too deep for my own good?

If you're trying to separate the flex hose from the black
plastic coupling, then you want to free up the red & blue
wire combo from the handle switch console. (I don't know
what I'm talking about, but it sounds good). That R/B wire
combo ends in a male plug (like a telephone land-line).
Try pressing the center tab on the male part with a small
screwdriver, while gently pulling backward on the wires.
If that doesn't work, try gently prying up A LITTLE on the
female part right next to the center tab while pulling back
on the wires. Fuss with it, it'll come apart.
I don't know if these wires are a part of the vac tube, or
merely inside it. This might be what that Vacuumciti site
meant by "electric" or "non-electric" vacuum hoses.

Hi FCS3....I am confused. What I presume is that if I'm able to buy new hosing that has the wire in it, i will have to reattach both ends (the handle, which operates the machine & the other end that fits into the canister). The canister end makes sense to me, it has 4 prongs. i would need to solder the wires of the "new" hose to those prongs. What doesn't make sense is this handle & how I will separate it (the wires) from the old hose & then reattach them to the new hose?. Would I just cut them & splice them back together with the wires of the new hose? Am I just not understanding what you wrote? I'm sorry for bugging you like this. Many thanks!

Vacuumciti sells come in various lengths, and already
have the correct type of electrical connections on them.
But you'd need to contact them to make sure.
If they don't have electrical connectors on them, you can
simply get an electrical fittings kit, clip the wires
for the little tan male handle plug about 3-4" from the
plug end, leaving plenty of extra wire for coupling thru
the fitting(s) from the kit. You may want to save the
other end's connector and splice it too. Not to worry,
the Hardware Man will show
you which fitting will work best to join the old to the
new wires (bring a sample to measure the gauge).
It wouldn't hurt to wrap electrical tape around the coupling
and on to the wire on both sides as insulation before re-
assembly.

MORE BAD NEWS
Visited a second repair shop. He did some investigating, but said he came up with nothing. Everyone keeps telling me they don't make this hose anymore. I get it. Just so strange to me that there aren't generic hoses. VacuumCiti has also told me, they don't make it anymore.
Is this really the end?
Is this all there is to a vacuum cleaner?

If I remember correctly, this canister vacuum was manufactured by LG for kenmore. The hoover bagless windtunnel canister (model s3765) was also made by LG and had a similar hose and similar speed controls. I wouldn't be suprised if the hose itself is the same, and finding a hose for the hoover might be easier.

Rob, I am truly sorry! I'm not sure I saw your post on the other thread. Something tells me that everyone here are very nice people.
You are right of course about that info. I've found a couple of Hoover hoses on eBay that maybe could work. It seems a touch foolish for me to buy one just so I can try it out, but what choice will I have? I did visit a repair shop today & the gent did a bit of searching, but came up empty. Funny, I think he specialized in Hoover & some other brand. He looked at my canister & like all others said he'd never seen it before.
