Numatic's Brand New Henry HVR200-A2 Has Been Changed After Only 3 Months!

Having mentioned this before to my other half, Sophie mentioned that when she uses the 580w John she finds him difficult to push on carpet & has to resort to opening the air valve (as you mention Sebo-fan). I wonder if the new 2 speed but with the slightly bigger motor helps with this as presumably when on it's lower speed the machine will be easier to push without resorting to opening the air valve.

I personally rather like the little 1 speed 580w.

The important thing to remember here is that the 620 watts is being stated at 230 volts. The cleaner will be designed to run at 220 - 240 volts here in thje UK and the 580 watts stated previously could well be set against the 220 volt calculation.

No doubt the 2-speed switch has been reintroduced as it's what consumers liked - it makes the cleaner just that little bit gimmicky and of course on low setting will use very little electricity compared to some of the high-wattage cleaners still on sale.

Personally I have found that the airvalve to be of much use on the Hi/Lo speed models. Sometimes as the bag gets fuller, and the natural reaction is to use Henry on high power all of the time, it can be frustrating to find that the Lo suction isn't as forceful. This is where I have used the High power all of the time but loosened the air valve at the top of the handle to have a little less air for easier gliding on the floor head, but with high suction power.

Since doing this when Numatic had these models on the market I tend to use air valves a lot more, even on my 2012 Miele S8 Eco cylinder vac. I seldom use the top 3 speeds when the first 3 are plentiful enough, but between the first two speeds, I open the air valve to make gliding easier with the heavy Ecoline/AirTeq 2 pedalled floor head.

More interesting to me though are the claims for filtration on these new Henry models now with 620 watts. The filtration claim still sits at a "C" rating but there is no additional exhaust filter.
