Well I went and bought another M1 since I finally have the space for it. It's unique design makes it a good collection piece IMO.
Anyways the leather fill tube has holes in it again. Seems like almost every one of them I've had has had this issue.
In the past I've used a piece of Kirby wire enforced fill tube to replace it which has worked fine, but I've often thought perhaps a hard tube would work better for this?
Has anyone had any luck making a hard fill tube for them?

The fill tubes in the NSS M1 bags appear to be made from vinyl upholstry material. The outside of the fabric is on the outside of the fill tube.Makes sense the smooth side on the inside so it can't absorb odors or get fouled with dirt.I have used Kirby fill tube assemblies from the local vac shop.
