What happened was that the seller ended the auction early.

Not quite.
The first listing with a minimum starting bid of thirty dollars ran its course with no bids. Then it was relisted with a reduced minimum bid of twenty dollars. Then it was ended early because the item was no longer available for sale.

P.S.: When people cancel a listing with the reason "the item is no longer available" it's usually because they changed their mind about selling it.

Sorry about that. Not long after I posted that question I began to wonder if I should have just sent you an email instead. One of the drawbacks of not being an upgraded member is I can't go back and modify or delete a post if I change my mind about it. That and spelling mistakes will likely cause me to upgrade at some point. Note the use of the word "buy" instead of "by" in the comment "by the way." Things like that make me crazy.
