Last Saturday after Norm and I unloaded his new treasures, he showed me his new and improved collection displays. Of course, I took pics, and am more than happy to post them for him. I'll try to tell you what I can, but I'm sure Norm will be happy to fill in any missing information. He has some nice machines in his collection, and to start out, here's a photo of his Airways and Luxes.
Left to right on top are a Rainbow (don't know what model), and Airways, model 77, 66, and 55 (or is it 55-A?).
Second row, Electrolux models 1205, ?, G, LX, XXX, and XII.

Luxes

Here's one that shows the Luxes a little better. As I said in the previous pic, left to right are a 1205, ?, G, LX, XXX, and XII. On the bottom are a Filter Queen 450 and a Lewyt model?. To the right, an Electrolux upright.

Now for the Hoovers

Hard to get them all in one shot, so I did two. In front are models 300, 26, 28, 63, and a Dial-A-Matic he bought at last year's Convention. Norm will have to fill you in on the ones in the back row. I know the one on the left is a 541 Special, the one on the right is a 115, but I'm not sure about what's in between.

Norm's Hoovers, Pic 2

Here we have the rest of the Hoover section. In front is the Dial-A-Matic,, 1060 Convertible, Elite, and toy Dirt Devil.
In back, Convertible 69, Dial-A-Matic, and Constellation models 87 (I think) and 82. Also a Dirt Devil hand vac and can vac can be seen. Also notice the VCCC and Convention T-shirts in the background.

Now, on to the Eurekas

Norm will have to fill in the model numbers for you, as I have no idea. These are his older Eurekas and a Kirby Classic is at the left. Also, a couple Dirt Devils are next to the washer.

Norm's Newer Eurekas

On the floor in front of his Hoover display are his newer Eurekas. Here again, he'll have to tell you about them, as I'm not too savvy in Eurekas.

Eureka & Kirbys

Norm will have to fill you in with the Eureka model number, but I believe the Kirbys are a 510 and 517--correct me if I'm wrong, Norm.

Now For The Vacs In Norm's Other Display

These are his daily drivers. To begin, an 86 Connie and a Canadian Lux. That Lux is one powerful machine!

Silverado and 86 Connie

That Silverado is another powerful machine! And if I'm not mistaken, he got the 86 Connie at last lear's Convention.

Heritage II, Dyson, and Hoovers

Here again. Norm will have to give you the model numbers. I do know the one in between the Dyson and the Convertibles is a Wind Tunnel. Also, the Turquoise Convertible is a vault vac that he won for his display at Hoover Hall during last year's Convention, but I don't know the model number.

Panasonic, Kirby Heritage II, and Dyson

At least, I think the one on the left is a Panasonic! Also, at far left is a glimpse of his factory rebuilt D-80. More pics of that coming up!

Norm's Factory Rebuilt D-80

What a beauty, and it runs as good as it looks! Even has the instruction book and tools. And although the plastic caddy isn't original to the D-80, it is a nice touch.

And Last But Not Least

Since Revelation is the last book of the Bible, I thought it would be appropriate to post the pic of Norm's Revelation as the last pic in this thread.
And as Rick would say, No vacuums were harmed in the production of this photoplay (but several were run!)!!
So there you have it, the Collection of Norm Brown. Enjoy,
Jeff

Oh My G-d!!!!!!

Can I see more pics of that beautiful Eureka Automatic Upright? The farthest turquoise unit in the Eureka upright shot? Do you have the attachments for it too?

I believe that is the identical machine with which I had a "first fear, then love" relationship as a toddler. It should be Model 210, if I am not mistaken. I think I'll hop in the Corolla now and come down for a visit, Norm!

Jeff, that's a top-rated Sharp "Twin Energy" upright (not Panasonic) in the photo next to the Kirby and the Dyson. Is it "Library Quiet" as the ads used to tout, Norm? If I am not mistaken, Sharp was the first vac company to put both cord clips conveniently high on the unit.

Thanks for the pics, Jeff.

Jeff, you are correct !

It is a Sharpe Not sure what year or model at this point. It is absolutely Library quiet !! It belonged to an older cousin
who went into asisted living. It made it's way from Arkinsa, all the way back to NE Ohio. Then to me in Columbus. I have the attachments and it is an awesome machine !!
The Eureka you picked out in the far background is a 260, blue. Yes, I found the attachments separately on Ebay. I was
really excited when I found the tools. I do have to say they
were a real disappointment in suction. About like a model 28
Hoover, great carpet cleaner, easy to use on the floor. OH and
yes, I did have the plastic cover to seal the suction from the
brush roller!
Norm

Norm, what a wonderful collection!! You have the machines displayed so well! Thanks for sharing them with us. Do you have a favorite? Terry

It's hard to say !!

Terry,
My favorite is hard to say. I still keep going back to my Kirby Heritage II, as well as my budget Lux, model 90 for
my hard floors. They all get used sooner or later !
I still remember Stan Kann and all of the vacuums around
him in a Cleveland Plain Dealer article back in the mid to late 50's. So I am reminded of him when I see my self in the
picture with my dual 80 Kirby (favorite one to look at and
use).
