I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right forum or not but here goes. I listed a Filter Queen hose on Ebay. There was one bidder. Immediately after the auction closed I sent an invoice. I waited 2 days and heard nothing from the buyer so I sent a reminder email. Waited another day and still nothing. According to Ebay policy a case can be opened after 2 days for non payment. I opened a case. Finally after 4 days I get an email from the buyer saying she has been out of town, she only bid on the hose because she thought the power cord for her hose was lost (some excuse about the grand kids using the vacuum) but then she found the cord so she didn't need the hose any more. From this I assume she is not going to pay. I sent her a polite email telling her I had opened a case. Her feedback is 100% with 34 ratings. What would you do?

Thanks,
Gary

I think there's also an option available to you to "walk away" from the transaction, essentially -- where neither of you get bad feedback, and you either don't pay a fee, or get the fee back.

I had it happen to me when I sold an iPhone. Someone bought it and then emailed me right away that they didn't have enough money to pay for it (dumb, I know)... so instead of turning it in to a big to-do, I just went the route of cutting ties; the buyer agreed, and I relisted it. I wanted to sell it quickly, and doing that allowed me to.

Leave the case open & finish her! I've had this done to me before and it's the most irritating thing in the world. A bid on EBay is supposedly a binding contract that the buyer will pay. Atleast she didn't say she "accidentally bid" lol.
