Non Genuine dust bags....opinions ??

O.K. experts, looking for insight regarding bojack Miele vacuum bags. My mom was lamenting the cost of a box of FJM bags. We've always used the original Intensive Clean Plus and continue to do so. I'm thinking the original is best. However, out of curiosity, how do the DVC or Enviroclean bags compare?

Bootleg Miele Bags

I've got a silver moon I use as the daily driver. I have the bootleg bags, and can't wait to get rid of them and get the real deal. It's worth the extra money, believe me. The bootleg bags don't fit right, and the fabric is thinner and does'nt filter as well. (just my opinion )

NEVER!!! use non genuine Miele bags!!

Nothing can come close for filtration, minimal decrease in suction as the bag fills, protection for the motor.....need any more reasons? lol! .

Also (over here anyhow) Miele reserve the right to void the guarantee if non genuine bags are used.

How much do genuine retail for in the US?. over here the shop I work in sells them for £7.00 a pack($13 approx)- although some big box retailers rip their customers off for over £10 ($19) a pack!!!

I didn't know other vac bag manufacturers were making "bojack" bags for Meiles-thought Meile hasn't licensed other makers to make bags,filters and parts for Meile machines.Nonetheless I would stick with original equipment bags and filters.The warrantee and motor will thank you.

Revisiting the

Miele dust bag topic. Many Bed Bath & Beyond stores are displaying various bags & filters. Their online store finder allows an inventory check of the products. The store $5 or 20% coupons apply. Nice discount on the consumables.

I buy bags for my Kirbys on eBay. I can usually get a good unit price on bulk lots. I'm working through a lot of 27 (three 9-packs) micro-filtration bags made by Envirocare Technologies. I have no complaints on quality. They're very comparable to Kirby's mid-range paper Micron Magic bags. I wouldn't know how they compare with the premium cloth ones, as I've never used any of those. They're definitely better than the basic paper "Generation 3" bags, which I also have a small supply of. I got the Envirocare bags a little over two years ago for about $30, including shipping, and they came with three genuine Kirby belts as well. That was a crazy good deal the night I pulled my first G6 from beside the dumpster.

Paper bags ain't the best, the can rip and the suction is not as good as a vacuum with a cloth bag. Numatic He a FLO's are the best bags I have ever seen. Fill them up and they still have the similar suck.
We had a Vax pets 6140 bagged multifunctional vac, after 6 months of use with a fresh genuine paper bag, and then replacing the bag, you REALLY do realise how much the suction deteriorates after weeks of vacuuming.

Try this with a Henry, with a HepaFlobag, You will not see MUCH difference, the bags are just quality. Nice material too

Walmart offers the Armand Hammer brand Miele bags. They are every bit as good as the genuine. They are the cloth HEPA disposable bags. With the plastic collar that seals itself. Have been using them for several years now and no complaints. Excellent filtration , no dust in the compartment. Three for $6.

I'm using third-party bags on my Electrolux 1205 as well. They're Multi-Home 4-ply bags. No complaints on performance and the bag compartment is clean and dust-free.

While we're on the topic...

Why doesn't my Miele or any other for that matter follow you in a straight line? Mine sort of travels diagonally. There is nothing under the wheels from what I can see.

Also, why is the exhaust filter so dirty with charcoal-black-looking when I just replaced the filter and only used the machine about 4-5 times so far? Mine is a model S280i which was sold as a straight suction machine though it has the electric hose port on it.

The HEPA filter is trapping the carbon particles from the motor's carbon brushes. All vacuum cleaners (except the Rainbow with Hurricane Motor and a few Dyson hand vacs) have carbon brush motors. Even mixers and blenders do too. But they just spew the carbon particles onto the counter.

I'll wait while you get it out of the top drawer of your desk, along with other important documents.


   .........  OK?  Good.


  Let us all turn to the page about bags.  . On page 14 of model # U4101, 1976 manual ( the copy I'm using now),  What bags to buy: "To assure that your HOOVER cleaner operates at peak performance, it is imperative that you use only genuine HOOVER throw away bags, made by The Hoover Company."HOOVER bags can be idetified by the trademarks........ There's also advice on the back cover  page from The VCMA, consumer information,  telling basically, the same thing.


  It's awful when you go to, say ,Walmart, to purchase a HOOVER cleaner.  But, Walmart doesn't sell GENUINE bags!


  They only carry Enviracare or  ARM&HAMMER bags.  What is one to do? 


  The only thing in my house made by ARM&HAMMER is baking soda,   known for years as salaratis.


  So,  let us follow our manuals and enjoy years of problem-free cleaning w/ our respective genuine replacement bags  Works for me!

Hear hear John. All my Hoovers are running with bags and belts proudly displaying the HOOVER trademark. I would not use them with anything else, although I fear the genuine parts made today are no better than generic parts sadly.
