Noisy Motor on Compact Canister circa 1868

My best vacuum is a green Compact canister vacuum that I purchased new.
I have replaced the power cord and otherwise kept the machine running well.
It became very noisy so I took it apart and checked everything out, looking for a bad bearing or some obvious problem but found none.
I reassembled the vacuum and it continues to run albeit very loudly.
Suspect it could be the motor or the rubber motor mount. The motor mount(70039) is not as pliable as it was when it was new so it may be transferring the motor noise to the aluminum case instead of damping it.
Any owners out there that have encountered this problem?

Loud Compact Vacuum.....

Depending on what is meant by loud. It could be a couple of things:
1). Dirt in the fan blades that cause it to go out of balance and have a harmonid sounding "WHOOOOOOOOM" when the cleaner is running.
2). Bent fan blades: it takes almost nothing to bend the delicate aluminum fan blades in a lamb style motor used in Compact, Tri-Star, Filter Queen and others. It is possible to bend the fan blades during disassembly and reassembly.

Personally, I would recommend getting a new 1-speed Lamb motor for it. They are cheap to buy and very easy to reinstall. Once that is taken care of you will easily get another lifetime out of it and there will be no hassle. I replaced the motor on my DXL and the thing is a dirt finding beast now, quieter and much more powerful than with its old motor.

The inside of the canister is immaculate as is the motor. The noise of the motor can be heard throughout the house and is more like a vibration.
I did not see any evidence of bent fan blades upon disassembly.
That's why I suspect the motor mount or a bearing.

Further inspection reveals this is a Compact Model C-7 mfg. by Interstate Engineering in California.

If that Compact is from 1868 it was WAY AHEAD of it's time. Being 150 years old it would have a right to be noisy. I think you mean 1968.

Ordered a new motor yesterday. Today I disassembled the vacuum, again.
I took the motor completely apart and discovered the source of the problem.
The motor has two aluminum fans. The outer fan failed.
The inner center of the aluminum fan cracked in a complete circle and separated from the fan. This is the source of the noise and vibration.
The sweeper was operating on the inner fan. I have attached a picture showing the fan failure.
The fan on the right is the inner fan, closest to the motor and it's still intact.
