Hi all,

I've just taken delivery of a Nilfisk Extreme here, and wondered if anyone has any experience of them? They are highly rated by many consumer magazines here- I was surprised by the size and weight of the cleaner when it arrived though. Was expecting a unit quite similar to a Miele S5 canister. It does come with a nice array of tools, which all seem decent quality. I believe this unit is meant to offer 400 airwatts, which certainly sounds impressive!

This example needs a replacement motor after 2 years, the current one is fluctuating in speed and has that 'electrical burning' smell. There is some plaster dust in the HEPA filter so I imagine this hasn't helped.

Anybody else here own one of these? Would love to hear the plus/negative points- a replacement motor is £55, plus £20ish for a new HEPA filter, plus bags, so I am debating whether this will be worth the repair.

I do not own one but I can tell you that all those floor tools are top quality ones and can be found on many Electrolux upper market models. Funny thing is that I seem to recall that this machine was actually a Electrolux commercial vacuum at one stage before that was all sold to nilfisk , could be wrong though

Floor tools

Hi Gareth,

Yes the floor tools all seem great quality- I want to say they are made in Germany by Wessel-Werk but not 100% on that. The normal pedal floortool has a metal baseplate very similar to the Miele one included with S5 basic models- I need to give it a clean up before I use it.

I've been using that turbobrush design for a few years with a Numatic tub vac, its probably the most effective I've used so far. Not worth the £90 Nilfisk charge for one new though...

Interesting you say this may have been a Lux commercial previously- could well be possible, I think this is a cosmetic redesign of the earlier Nilfisk King model.

Thanks man I know of that one ( I have one of those )but I am sure there were a few more , I remember a squareish Electrolux as-well.

The normal foot piece is the same as the one on the standard Electrolux oxygen
