While browsing Facebook Marketplace i happened upon this “Old Hoover Vacuum still in sealed box”
It was posted for $50 but just over an hour drive from me, we ended up settling on a price of $30 if I came and picked it up. Went and got it today and boy am I thrilled. I couldn’t help but wonder why this machine had been kept unopened so long. The lady told me that her husband always liked to buy multiple of things incase one would break. They were cleaning out their basement, which is also climate controlled and found this machine. Already having 4 other vacuums 2 of which were the exact same as this one she decided to just sale this one. The machine was actually factory sealed in the box and is indeed brand new. These are excellent machines and some of the last original Made in the USA Hoover’s. Hope you all enjoy the pictures!

Great find! The same happened to me. I have a Eureka I bought last year intending to use it for my garage. Then maybe a month after I bought it, I find a Sanitaire canister vac that has a super long wand and you can put a strap on it and wear it like a backpack at Goodwill, which will work a lot better. So the Eureka got put downstairs and never got opened and still is not opened today.

Cool find. I would have had a hard time opening and using it, but it was meant to be used. I didn't know these came with a floor brush and extra wand though!

Nice score!

What a great find!
I'm with Cole though.
If it were me, I know I wouldn't have been able to open it
After I kicked the bucket, someone else would find it, even older, still NIB.
I'm sure that setting it up and using it is a lot more sensible.
But then, I'm a bit of an odd bird.

He bought 2 of everything

in case one would break? Damn!
Anyway, that's awesome. There is no way I would be able to store something like that NIB and go all those years without opening it.
