Hi everyone!

I have a beautiful like-new TriStar EXL and I would like the 12ft hose for it. However no way I'm paying $200+ for one :P I have a damaged EXL hose that has both the handle and inlet end in great shape and I would like to replace the hose with 12ft of the same material. But I am having trouble finding the same type, I would like it to be the same or close to the original color, as well as electric of course. Does anyone have a source for this?

12' Hose on Lux Platinum

Hi,

I have the new 12' hose on my Lux Guardian Platinum. Spend the money. You will really like it. If memory serves me the maker is Flexible Technologies guys chime in if I am wrong.

Ya, I agree with Brian on this one - spend the money and just get the hose. I have a custom 10 ft electric hose for both my Grand Marquise and my Epic 6500SR, makes them a lot easier to use for certain jobs.

Just so you are aware Armand, it would not be possible to source the hose material and make it yourself though. Those Platinum and TriStar hoses that have the plastic ring built into the hose material where it goes into the handle are proprietary - you would need to transplant the plastic ring from your damaged hose to make new hose material work if you made one from scratch. That would be VERY tricky for the average person to do. Plus, even if you could, by the time you buy the hose material you're already coming close to the $200 for the 12 foot TriStar hose anyways.

Kirbylux and Brian-

Thanks for the suggestions, i’ll keep searching around!

I’ve taken apart the damaged hose and replacing the 6 foot with the 12 foot is definitely a job i’m more than capable of doing. It’s a pretty straightforward connection from the old hose to the connector where it goes into the handle and the cleaner end. I paid next to nothing for the hose so i’ll keep looking but if I can’t find the material i’ll bite the bullet and get a new one
