Hi just wanted to take a minute to say how much pleasure I have taken from the Vacuumland site to date. My partner found this site over a year ago and suggested that I should check it out. I am so very pleased I did. I have been a member for just a little over a year. I will work to get my collections up on this site over the next few months. It is really nice to see other people like to collect as much as I do and to share what they have found.
Special shutout to Dave Kerr from Stratford that I had the great pleasure meeting in person about 7 months ago through a connection from work, during a celebration of life had an opportunity to share stories from vacuumland and our specific collections. While Dave would have a much larger collection than I we do have a lot in common.
I would also like to give a second shutout to Doug from Saskatoon who has been able to assist me with the validation of the vintage of my Electrolux vacuums.
For me it all started with my mother’s 1957 Electrolux vacuum, I was hooked and just loved every opportunity that presented that I could vacuum. My mother’s friends loved when she would come to visit for coffee as I would play with their vacuums and clean their homes.
It was also very cool for me to only live 1 block away from our local Electrolux vacuum sales man and loved to visit his home and shop when given the opportunity.
These are a few pictures of my vacuum collection which contains my grandmothers, mothers and aunts Electrolux’s. As part of my collections they also include mixers, blenders etc. I will set up the correct categories and post these going forward.
Thank you to everyone at vacuumland for sharing your treasures.
