Hello! I found an older rigid shop vacuum in the trash, and it looks like the previous owner ran it without a filter. i cleaned out the fan and i will grease the bearings since they smell like smoke. If I’m correct it’s a 2008 model

If it's got a burning odor, that's likely due to the commutator in the armature being dirty which is common to happen with these especially when brand new but can easily be fixed.

Good find!
I had scored an original series shop vac 5 gallon unit from the trash 2 months ago, same place I got the 3B Kitchenaid mixer.
It had the box and all attachments. They sucked up drywall dust once then chucked it.
I spent about 10 minutes washing it up and it is near new. I needed one, too!

Agree good find. I got a 16 gal Craftsman and some attachments a couple of months ago off the curb down street the neighbor had passed away. Then found a Dirt Devil hand vac there a while after.
