I just snagged a complete tool kit on eBay for my Electrolux Genesis LXe, which I snagged at a thrift shop last weekend for about the price of a fast food meal. The tool kit was a little more expensive at $20 plus shipping, but for a Sidekick, wands, crevice tool, combo tool, electrified 'pigtail' hose and tool caddy, I'm into it for what the Sidekick alone usually goes for. To sweeten the deal, I also had about $6 in eBay Bucks to burn, so that knocked my net cost down a little further.
I don't really need two hoses for that machine, so I'm planning to keep the better of the two and put the other one back up on eBay. I should be able to get enough at least enough to cover the cost of the tool kit, if not the vacuum cleaner as well.
The big question is which hose to keep? The one that came with the Genesis is a little discolored at the machine end but seems to work perfectly. Another possibility would be to keep both of those hoses and sell the one that came with my Discovery II, to which I've upgraded with an external power cable and metal tipped handle.
Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for m my "local" Aerus dealer, which is 30 miles away, to call and let me know the handle/cord assembly has come in so I can take the machine over there (60-mile round trip) and get the recall repair.
Looks like last weekend's good score is in the process of turning into a better one!
