After searching, and searching, and searching (just looking last night), I decided to order a cordless carpet sweeper. I used to have a Hoky Carpet Cat from the 70's (you know, the ugly yellow one) and I feel that I can safely say that it worked almost as well as a vacuum cleaner. I couldn't believe how much it picked up! It was mostly dust, lint, and pet hair, but it was impressive nonetheless. Well, that was quite awhile back, and I really don't know what happened to it. I think my mom tossed it out or donated it. I apologize for going off on a tangent like that just now.....
Anyways, I did some looking around on Amazon last night to try and find the perfect little sweeper. By no means do I intend to replace any of my vacuums, I just want a lightweight sweeper 'cause I kinda like them. I compared prices, as well as reviews, and found this one (see link) and decided to get it because the price was right and the reviews were pretty good. I don't really know for sure, but I think that it's a generic Shark cordless sweeper. I really like the Sharks because they're good looking, pretty quiet, and they're aggressive enough to clean a carpet. I look forward to having a decent carpet sweeper and hope that it doesn't give me too much trouble. I will keep you posted once it arrives!

Pretty good sweeper

I had the Shark model of this sweeper and loved it, but the battery doesn't last long. Be prepared to purchase a new battery for the unit in about a year....

Its the similar one to the GTech we've had in the UK for the last 8 years or so. I have one and its great and mine is just a year old. No battery problems. The brush roll gets quite dirty after a time so make sure you clean off the soft bristles, otherwise the brush roll just starts putting dirt back on the floor.
