New Sirena 5-day deal Sam's Club

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

It appears on the Sirena website thsat they are closing out the blue model as they are introducing the new Platinum model. New 12 year warranty, new power nozzle. The PN is not my favorite part of the blue model, so I would be interested if it is improved.

There are even some refurbs offered for $395, and financing available.

How does....

this unit compare to Rexair/Rainbow units? There's something about that blue PN I don't like, but would have to try it out in the flesh.

The Sirena is a good machine.  I would say would compare more to an older Rainbow.  It does not have a brushless motor.  No direct connect wands.  Moves 90 CFM on High.  a bit larger water basin. Both Sirena and Rainbow are water based/separator machines.

Like I have said previously; I am not a fan of the power nozzle.  It's not a bad nozzle,  there is a very large dead side where the belt runs.  It does, however, seem to do a good job cleaning.   I don't care for the adjustments.  I wish there were more settings, and they were more clearly marked.  I wish it had a headlight. I think these are just my preferences rather than negatives with the nozzle.

I wanted a new Rainbow, but my checkbook said I couldn't have it, I got a very good price for a new in the box Sirena on Ebay last February.  I have had no complaints in the last almost year I have owned mine.   Any questions you have Sirena has responded within a day with an answer or solution.  As I was saying to myself yesterday, "would you buy another one?"  "Yes, self, I would."

Hmmmmm.....

I was thinking about maybe picking up a used Rainbow D4. We had two Rexair's growing up for our hard flooring and Hoover uprights for the carpeting. Last new Rexair was probably early to middle 60's, that I remember anyway. I think the first one just had a bad cord, but they wouldn't let me fix it(I was probably 12). No power nozzle for the second one, but maybe because mom opted out...dunno. So I looked through the Rainbow history site and the D4's are somewhat affordable, but the prices vary wildly on eBay.

That's why I asked about the Sirena......

I have one if anyone wants to buy it

I bought in as an impulse purpose but I've had my rainbow for over 10 years now and I end up using it. I've used the Sirena a few times and if I didn't have my rainbow, I would totally want it - but since I have my rainbow, it just sits stored away. If anyone wants to buy it from me, let me know - I take VERY good care of my stuff. My rainbow still looks new even though I use it A LOT.
