New royal brushroll coming tomorrow!!

Some of you may have seen my video, as well as my original post from a month or so ago about my royal 8200 (like new). I finally took the plunge and order the new brushroll a few days ago. It IS unnecessary money for me to be spending in college at the moment, but I couldn't resist (it's humorous to me because I see a lot of people talking about spending money they don't need to on here... We are enabling!! Lol). I decided to start a thread about it NOW so I'm not bias from the get go, because I haven't been able to use my royal yet! I also DID buy the "perfect" brand HEPA cloth bags on eBay for 7.99 for 4 bags. So I'll be running that as well. Super super excited, let's see if it lives up to the hype!

Many times, I have the temptation to load up on spare parts for my favorite tools... Such as extra air filters for the lawn and garden equipment. What I discovered in some cases was that the replacement parts I bought sat dormant for years, sometimes with the machine itself wearing out before I even needed it.

I now take a more conservative approach, and inspect my equipment every few months and see what parts are needed. I do a quick count on Vacuum bags, check the screen filter, check the belts and brush rolls. Because I'm doing the check-ups, many times, I clean up threads or debris that would lead to a lesser life of the part.

Last time I serviced the Turbocat, I found some fuzz on the driving cog that would have wiped out the belt had they gotten more in number. Whilst the brush-roll was out, I greased all the bushings. The inspection means there will be LESS replacement parts needed in the future.

I do the same, I actually have a kitchen garbage bag full of vacuum bags (organized though). Though this brushroll is a replacement for the one that is bent in the royal at this time. I have a soft spot for power tools as well. Everytime I go into tractor supply I'm tempted to buy parts for my tractor and wide area mower. We don't have anything super spectacular, but we do have premium residential units that you can buy at home and garden stores (if that is contradictory lol). I have a cubcadet 28" cut dual blade wide area mower. The blades I have never found at tractor supply where the unit is sold, though only online. I also have a Craftsman pro-series with a 24hp Kohler elite. Again, not a Scag or Wright, however it is the top of the line against all store mowers with some commerical material designs. But I also feel the need to buy replacement parts, primarily for the wide area mower.
