Hey guys..
do ya'll think its possible to remove the new red plastic bag holder from a newer riccar vibrance that takes the new self sealing bags? unscrew it and pop on an older style Riccar type B bag with the cardboard collar? reason being im using my riccar R20S commercially to clean a small office and was wondering if that would be possible to remove the red plastic bag flange and just pop on a standard type B ecopure paper bag instead? i see there are two screws below the red bag holster.. just wasnt sure if that takes off the red flange or what? Reason being also that it'll be cheaper for me to use paper bags rather than the good hepa bags.

Thanks for ya'lls feedback!
happy vacuuming

The type B bag is too long for the dust compartment. The type B bag was for the Riccar 8000 series and the Simplicity 7000 series. There's little reason to get the inside of your new cleaner all dirty - paper bags leak about 10% of the fine dust. If you're cleaning commercially, the exhaust air will need to be 100% clean, or dust will settle into the computer terminals and monitors. For the sake of your motor, and your surroundings, and your lungs, please use the HEPA bags. Did you know that the HEPA bags are available for your machine "in bulk" with no printing and no box. This makes them inexpensive, as there's no printed cardboard box, no plastic packaging, and no printing on the bags. These are the bags that are used on the assembly line.

You would not be able to change out the inlet flange - the injection molds are different sizes for the new models.

wow

Tom do you know where i could obtain the bulk bags? And makes perfect sense BTW..hepa is the way to go.. i just cant believe how much dust and crud the vibrance has just picked up in two days of vacuuming... bag is halfway full.

Let me know please..

Thanks

I second tom

HEPA bags are the way to go. Keep your inside of the machine spotless and maintain the performance way longer than paper. The HEPA ones end up being cheaper since you can go longer in between changes if your the type to change bags when they're packed.

Just my two cents

Andrew, if I was you, I would NOT go for the HEPA bags. If you're commercial cleaning offices & halfway filling bags in 2 days, you would be best served going with micro-filtration paper bags & using the Riccar Type B bag as you were thinking of doing. And either remove the red holder, or you could also tape it in place with a piece of duct tape, & just mount the bag right on the tube. Also, if you wanted to save some money on the Riccar bags, to me the opening looks to be the same size as a Panasonic Type U bag, & of course those can be easily found in most vac shops & online in bulk. As for the bags being slightly longer, just fold them up a little at the bottom when you install your bag.

As to Tom worrying about dust re-settling on office equipment, if that was an issue you could always upgrade to the HEPA post motor filter offered for the Riccar Vibrance Ultra-Premium. It's just under $30 US dollars, & it would be a lot more economical than using HEPA bags. Regarding dust entering your motor, I wouldn't worry about it too much. A little dust never hurt a motor, we have all used paper dust bags in clean-air upright vacuums for years & the dust they let off I have never yet seen kill a motor. Plus, you would of course be checking & changing your pre-motor filter when dirty. Below is a link to the Riccar Vibrance HEPA filter set for your vacuum.
