Its about time too - all those single cyclone models with the large central pleated filter were a dead loss, constant blocking and needing cleaning every 5 minutes. No wonder so many of them end up burnt out within a year through overheating.
I have the Vax Mach Air multi cyclonic, and although its only a small cleaner, the top filter doesnt need that much cleaning and it maintains a good level of suction.
The Hoover turbopower 4 uses the same design as the vax, and again, its a good cleaner.
Doesnt change the fact that I like my Sebo X4 and my Henry better, and the Dyson DC07 still has a much higher suction level at 280AW.
Modern bagged technology is so much better now than in the 90's, and I havent noticed hardly any drop in suction on my Sebo or Henry as the bags fill up.
Most Dysons though do have 2 filters - 1 pre motor sponge filter and 1 post motor filter - usually a hepa pleated in the more modern cleaners but can also be a simple pad in the older non hepa models.
The more modern Dysons like the DC39 need more regular pre motor filter cleaning which surprises me, as the older DC07 only stated cleaning every 6 months.
