I came here to find out how to date my old Red Devil 103 handhelds, but cannot zoom the photo without an account. I'm delighted to find a place where I might find info about how to tinker and keep my old machines going well, on the cheap. I only buy such things at thrift shops or yard sales, etc and fiddle and fix them as needed.
I have had and loved AirWays, but am out of them now as I have sold them, let them all go. I have a couple Riccar 8850 uprights that I love; I have a few Oreck XL 870 portables that are so useful! and I grab them when I see them cheap. I bought and sold a couple old Kirby though personally they're just not for me; and I still have an old Kenmore Progressive 116 upright vacuum that I've been keeping going for over 20 years but now it is relegated to living in the garage and doing jobs that I think might be too filthy for my favorite old Riccars, until the day that it just can't continue. I love my old Hoover carpet cleaner and have traded up a few times, selling my old one every time I come upon a better one.
