Hello all, I’m Doug. I did have an account prior to the website update, but this is my new account. I have collected vacuums for most of my life. My favorite vintage brand is Electrolux, and my favorite modern brands are Miele and Sebo. My current handle count is 25 vacuums (upright and canister), I have most of the brands represented in my collection, except Rainbow and other uncommon brands.
I am slowly trying to show most of my collection, feel free to view my YouTube: https://youtube.com/@dmvac7500?si=L9pj7i5oXE-RcttT

Nice collection. Beautiful Olympia one. How well do you like your riccar spirit compared to your other vacuums?
Also, glad to have you join us.
I would say that I’m glad to have it in my collection, as it represents the better designs of Riccar. I definitely think they should have kept the original Vibrance design with the head light and bare floor clutch. I use the Spirit the least out of: An X4, S8, Healthcare pro, and others. The main thing that I dislike is that the Spirit seams to spit a lot of dirt behind it on carpet. The suction is not good at the floor, I hear things move around for a while before they are picked up. I’m also convinced that the motor is a cheaper one than what was in the original Vibrance. It’s sad to see a once mostly American produced brand move to sticking their name on a Chinese vacuum. I don’t mind if they outsource components, but they should be of high quality.
