Very nice and rare machine. Congratulations. I love mine. Do you have any of the correct bags? The filter over the motor can be vacuumed clean but do not wash it. I can give you suggestions on what bags to buy currently that will fit. I'm going to assume that yours does not have the automatic cord retract. That was an additional $18 option. Not something many people in 1959 wanted to do. Mine does not have the auto rewind. I have a friend who has the same model but with the automatic rewind, the cord is about 3 feet shorter than the one on ours. You can easily restore it to amazing condition. You are on the right track with the original hose. Don't worry about the tape on the crevice tool. Almost all, but not completely all, broke. I was lucky enough to meet a man who used to work in the repair department at Sears in St. Louis. Through people he knew, he was able to locate a new crevice tool for mine. I love using this vacuum even though it is big. After a thorough greasing of the caster bearings, it rolls as if it is weightless. Enjoy it. Hunt for the catalog pages it was in. Start with spring summer of 1958.

I like the idea of having mixed colored displays of vacuums. There are a couple new vacuums that I like, one of my favorites is the "patriot" made in Huntington Beach California. It uses the Sebo power nozzle.

My favorite part about the new one is the amazing shade of purple they chose. And two is the awesome power nozzle and back saver extension wands it's six wheel Mars Rover suspension means it turns in its own length and turns on a dime as well.IMG_0955.jpegIMG_0952.jpegIMG_0951.jpeg

Welcome to the group! Your Kenkart is probably the rarest model of Kenkarts made! Here's my only Kenmore, a few years older than yours but a much more common model. My parents had one like it when I was a kid that they used in the basement and to clean out their cars. Love the "prrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeenn" sound it makes when you start it up, but when I was little it kind of startled me.

Hello, thanks for your comment. I have one bag. And the filter is somewhere outside. It got lost. But I'm gonna look for it. Otherwise make my own. If you know where I can purchase a new filter and bags let me know 😁👍. Thanks

I'm in need of this attachment that is for this. A knuckle or some type of metal sleeve that goes with the locking mechanism on the tube and hose. Anyone have one?🙏

This KenKart would have a straight wand and then their only curved lower wand. Might help if we could see everything you have with it.
