Hi All,

I have often checked out this site, but never actually got round to joining it.But now I have !

I am based in UK (Cumbria), and have had a lot of pleasure from owning softbag upright vacs over the years. I am 53 years old by the way. I absolutely crave the older uprights, with large inflating cloth bags, and that lovely beater bar sound.
I own a small collection of unrefurbished uprights. I dont like to clean them up when I buy them or find them. Some even have the original housewife's dirt in the bag ! I would love to communicate with other UK based vac collectors and enthusiasts, particularly with a view to swapping vacs. I dont suppose I could be THAT lucky, but I would dearly love to chat to a FEMALE VACUUM CLEANER COLLECTOR IN THE UK ! Does such a person exist ? I doubt it ! Lol.

Currently the one vac I would love to find has completely eluded me for many years...its a Hoover U7069 or U7071 Commercial upright which is I think actually still maufactured, but was more common around 10 years ago. It has a peculiar "suede" feel to its orange dustbag. IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THESE U7069/71 vacs that work in the UK and would like to swap it or sell it...please email me !

My email address is [email protected]

Thanks

Shinymac

There are female collectors, they just don't realise they have a collection, cos they usually stuff them in a cupboard, in the cellar or in the garage when they stop picking up properly through no maintenance... :P

Though I'm not sure why you like keeping the "original dirt" in your vacs, that's a sure fire way for them to absorb damp and start rotting away... :&#92
