Here are my kind or recent acquisitions.

1957 Convertible 65, in quite sad shape
Late 50s or 60s Convertible 31- non original bag- Pretty decent shape. Very restorable- hood slightly warped, but shiny!
1970s or so Royal 880 3 amp model. Needs a good cleaning!

Would really appreciate help on the 65 parts. Its a dream machine definitely.

I have had the 31 for quite some time, its just been in storage. The 65 and 880 came from a collector friend in town.

The 65 was found in the basement of the vacuum-gold mine place I always love.

I had a dumb moment about this here.

I was like... why on earth is the cord outside the handle????

Oh duh.... the switch is in the handle bail. LOL

Convertible 65 base.

Mmmmmm... poor thing, poor thing indeed. What was that awful housewife thinking when she rammed the poor hood under the furniture to create such deep gouges.

And what on earth happened to the metal trim!!!?!?!?!? Ugh. Some people shouldn't be allowed to have a vacuum.

Will create a thread in a moment about restoration of the hood. ;)

Royal time.

A light polishing occured tonight. Nothing too over the top or detailed. But I just couldn't have it sitting there in the shape it was in!

Before and after.

Done for now

As you can tell, I really need a new bag! This one has very worn spots and the zipper will not open.

That's a late model 31... the versions of the cleaner from later in the run had a white base and a narrow bag... vs. the earlier ones that had the mint green base and the wider bag.

The 65's headlight lens is from a later Convertible ... one from the late 60s or 70s. Awesome that you found both a 65 and a 31! Congrats!
