The outer bag on my Kirby G5 has a hole in it and it's still pretty dirty inside, despite my efforts to clean it, so I've been kind of keeping my eye out for a replacement. I recently found one on the cheap; in fact, it's the whole bag, mini emptor and fill tube assembly—for an Ultimate G. Even though it doesn't match the 'cabernet' color scheme—which I love—it's a nice, functional upgrade in that it gives the machine the newer style mini-emptor and the curved zipper for easier inner bag access.
Aesthetically, the new bag is still growing on me. I kind of miss the look of the G5's burgundy bag, but the Ultimate G bag does have a subtle bit of burgundy as an accent color. Once I noticed that, I swapped the G5's bag header onto it to bring that color out a little more and I was almost tempted to swap over the burgundy emptor as well. But that would have been silly. While it might have looked a little better, it would have meant sacrificing the functional superiority of the newer style mini-emptor. In the end, I'll take function over form.
