I cant comment on the NEW mixers...BUT

Get all the attachments you can, I have a 1965 K-5 and I use many of the attachments all the time, I have both types of slicer shredders, the can opener, the pea sheller, the silver buffer, the grain mill,a 4 quart ice cream freezer, and of course the meat grinder which I use often, I try to buy chuck roasts on sale and gring my own hamburger and freeze it, it really is better and all of these attachments are great, of course all of mine are at least 40 to 50 years old.

I'm not sure about the models...

My girlfriend has the smaller one where the motor and stand are hinged and the bowl sits on a platform. My ex-wife had (likely still has) the larger one that has a pair of arms that holds the bowl like a commercial Hobart. Both of them are powerful and quiet. I use a mixer so seldom that I find that my '70s vintage chrome Sunbeam Mixmaster does all I need. Aside from the beaters and dough hooks that came with it, I have a food processor attachment that slices and shreds.

If you love being in the kitchen

Yes!!!! No kitchen should with out one in my opinion. I bought the pasta maker attachment and the ice cream making kit . I adore making rice flour pasta and home made strawberry ice cream.

Thank-you,Everybody, for your input it is greatly appreciated.

The special offer is that if you purchase the machine from 27 Aug for a limited period you are also to be given a glass bowl with splatter rim thing and a food processor.

I want the cream coloured machine. The Owner of the shop has reserved the cream machine currently on display for me; I have paid a deposit whereby when the offer commences on the 27th I can pay the balance and take advantage of the deal but at the old price just before the prices go up?

Again many thanks to you all,

Kind regards,

Walter, West Midlands, UK.
