New in box Kirby

You can tell that is an early omega by the bag style. That is a very hard to find bag ( aka the pinstripe bag) Later that changed it just a little and most of the Omega's we've seen have the changed bag. I want to say it's like a dotted or little diamond shapes. Oh, someone help me out here with that. Or maybe I have it all backasswards. I am pretty sure though that the pinstripe was the first one. I am REALLY looking hard for one if anyone has an extra. Just the bag, not the machine.

Kirby wonder

Hi James I dont no where you get all these kirbys both new and old you have a wonderful collection. The hard work you put in sure shows. i am getting a 519 from a dear friend very soon his parents have told him all but eight vacuums must go so he is finding good homes for them all. Hi,

Hi Adam, Now your asking...

After I took those pictures I boxed it back up again just like it came out the factory. It's now buried under all my other Kirby boxes at my dads. So it will be a while before I can dig it out to check the serial number for you.

But when I do I'll let you know.

OMG it is a beauty, It looks like a 1973-74 model? Can I ask what it went for on eBay???? In 1975 I bought my Mom a new one and back then I paid $175.00 with the attachments and rug renovator.

Hi,

Hi Adam, If you message me on here I can give you my e-mail address.

Hi Charlie, Off the top of my head I can't remember what I paid for it as it was quite a few years ago. I know it wasn't cheap lol.

Hi,

Hi Ben, How do you know the serial number? Do you still have it from when it was listed a few years ago on ebay?

James

But wait, if the serial number makes it 1975, then how come it has the pinstriped bag? Wouldn't it have the diamond-backed bag?

The pinstriped was used on 1973 models, wasn't it?

James,

I think you told us the serial # while you talked about it on the "Kirby Vacuum Group USA" group list on Yahoo! Groups.

Noah (ncovert): I'd bet money they'd alternated between the previous pinstriped jean bag (as used here) and the then-current diamondback vinyl fabrics. It's leftover stock. Same thing happened while they did the original Classic 1CR gold bag during the first year of the pinstriped jean bag.

James (kirbymodel2c),

Do you still have this NIB Omega or not? If you do still have it, was there any literature included with the machine such as a price list for replacement belts and brush rolls, that I would please have you make a scan of?

Thank you,

Ben

Hi,

Hi Ben, Hope your well. Yes I still have the NIB Omega but It's packed away again and I don't keep it at home, Soon as I took it out he box to take pics of it and make sure it still ran ok back in the box it went so I can't remember if it came with a price list or not.

When I get it out again I'll let you know if it came with any other paperwork.

I...

I will. It's just with it going back in it's box, I store it with all my other Kirby boxes/attachments at my dads and not at my home so I don't get to go through them that often. I'm sure I will go through everything again at some point. Probably when James S pops over and can help me.
