Goodmorning! I am wanting to get a new hose for my Electrolux Model G, I use it just about every on the hardwood floors, it is my favorite older vacuum, it is quiet and has good suction which will be better when i get a new hose! ;-) I am looking at the one in the link. I am wondering if I could get a longer hose, like 10' long. I dont need a electric hose, I dont use it on the carpet! Does anyone know were I could order one?

A couple of the vac shops near me sell the vinyl generic hose "by the foot." It's a simple matter to buy the desired length of hose material and reuse the existing metal ends, unless you want to keep the old hose intact for posterity's sake. I suppose the blank hose could be ordered online as well but I've never looked.

@ Joe, thats a little to long for me too! I just need about 10', we have tall celings and when i am cleaning the fans i always have to set the vac on a chair or get Dan to hold it! Thank you tho!

Just cause im curious, what would that much house do to the suction?

Check this one..

The above link you shows a crush proof type hose, I have that one, but also have the one on this link, and I like wire-reinforced type hoses, just a preference. You can order both ends from Hesco I believe, and have a hose made in your desired length at a vac shop, but the one in this link works great, and has the feel and flexibility of an OEM type hose.

There would

probably be some reduction in suction with a 30 foot hose. I know with my Dyson, the suction seems stronger if I don't extend the hose as compared with when I do stretch it out.

Instead of getting a longer hose, which will impact suction power, why not just get an extra set of wands? The Model G wands are aluminum and very light-weight. You might only need one additional wand to reach into your ceilings. Then for normal cleaning, go back to just the two wands and you'll still have full power.

Plus, my experience with extra-long hoses is that they make it harder to maneuver and control the machine. And the longer hose will have a greater tendency to get wrapped around furniture and table legs.

I think that is what i will do! I am needing a new hose anyway and just thought i would maybe get one a little longer, but i can for sure see your point on maneuvering and getting caught on funiture! Thanks!!

I will tell you!

What I did for a new hose, I took a crushproof genuine Electrolux hose for one of the Discovery uprights, took off the machine end, attached a rubber cuff, and cemented it into a Lux machine end, made a nice light hose that is somewhat genuine Lux.
