New Hoovers

Looks can be deceiving...

I bought a similar Hoover at Target. It wasn't the 'Windtunnel' Rewind, but it had the word 'Rewind' in it. That's the feature I liked the best.

Ok. So I get it home, assemble it. Then I use it a little bit. It picked up quite a bit of dirt, so I go to empty the cup. The trap-door mechanism was BROKEN! Right out of the box, brand new. Broken. So...I took it back. Target wasn't going to take it back until I showed them what was broken.

I decided to try a different model Hoover: The Mach 5. A very nice machine trying to compete with Dyson. It even said something like "20% better suction than Dyson!" It has the turbo tool, an adjustable handle, brushroll shut off and the cord rewind.

The only problems with the Mach 5 are that it's a bit heavy and lumbering. It could benefit from a self-propel feature. The other problem is the dirt cup. The bottom-empty design is horrid, because you have to touch the lid to close it and it gets dirt everywhere. If I had the choice to, I wouldn't buy another one.

I suppose the bottom line is to CHECK everything after you assemble it.

Hmmm that looks like a cross between a Bissell Bagless (with the pull out "drawer" type filter under the dirt bin), and a dirt devil something.

Tim, on what grounds did Target try to refuse the return? I thought they had a return policy that if you didn't like something, you could bring it back. I tried to return a fan once that I had about 2 weeks and didn't like. The lady told me she couldn't take it back because there was dust on the blades and it was "used". I told her of course I used, it, how else do I know it doesn't work the way I wanted it to!! I drove 10 miles to the next Target, and the lady refunded my money without even OPENING THE BOX!

Hoover Windtunnel T-Series Pure Clean

Robert and I purchased this vacuum the other day. We have it at our local walmart. Anyways It was nice, Here's the story.

I saw the vacuum a few weeks ago on the shelf at walmart. It looked nice and almost looks like a cheaper version of the platinum collection. I was excited to get this vacuum. had good suction and didnt leak dust like most of the "bagless" vacuum cleaners do. HOWEVER...Robert and I were cleaning and moving furniture around in the living room. worked good the first few times it was turned on and then started to make this horrid metal on metal noise. The cord is a lil short for my taste, The hose is a decent length and the tools are ok. nothing too special about them. Has a button to push on the head to turn the beater off for hard floors, the only problem with this is that the belt stretches out very fast. The cord rewind is a joke, The cord gets so hot because the exaust vents are right below the opening that the cord comes out of, and a lot, and I mean a lot of air comes out of the cord winder, makes the cord really hot!!! The plastic on it seems to be more durable then most vacs, however the fold away handle seems to become loose a lot. I did have a thread on here about it when I saw it in the store, Pictures of the box etc. Ours was redish color, more red then what the pictures show. When I called Hoover they didnt even know what vacuum cleaner I was talking about, they had no info on this vac. We took it back to the store because we thought that $139.99 was a bit much for a vacuum cleaner that we didnt think would last 6months.
