New Hoover Stainless Steel Constellation

Congratulations Ross! What a neat machine. It looks like you have quite a bit of tile. Have you considered getting a 14" wide Wessel Werk bare floor tool? It makes cleaning large areas of hard surface an absolute pleasure.

Hi Andy. I live in an 1800 square foot townhouse which is
all ceramic tile floors. I like the smaller floor brush so I can get into small areas. The Constellation just follows me as I vacuum. It is the easiest machine I have ever used.

Ross

Ross I am happy to see you got another Constellation. I think you will enjoy the longer hose on the stainless steel machine. I was sad to hear from a friend that in the latest issue of Consumers Reports they gave it just about the worst rating. I sure don't agree with that but then too I have been using mine mostly on ceramic tile not the carpet.

Hi Terry. I cannot imagine how the Constellation could get a bad rating. It has great suction and maneuverability.
I think it is one of the best vacuums made.

Ross

Yep,

The WORST canister is that "Thane" H20 Water Filtration Vac,
The Connie got second to the worst rating, Here is the rating info.

Weight-17lbs
Carpet-fair (it picks up everything up in two passes on my carpet, I LOVE it, don't know why they don't)
Bare Floors-Very Good
Tool Airflow-POOR (How can this be?, This thing has Great suction!, One of the greatest I've used!)
Noise-Fair (i think it is QUIET!, again, how can this be?)
Emissions-Very Good
Handling-fair
Pet Hair-Good (I don't know, it does Awful on my carpets when dealing with pet hair!)

Now Wessel-Werk makes this battery powered power nozzle, tti should put them on the Connie, the delphin Proair has it, its called the ATB, i think it would work GREAT on the connie, just as long as the person would charge the battery!...lol
And FINALLY they didn't recommend the Bissell PowerForce again!
Oh, I dont care what CR says, I love my connie and wouldny give it up for anything else!

Andrew, I have to agree with you. I think the Constellation is one of the best new vacuums I have used in a long time. How in the world they can say the the tool airflow is poor is beyond me. I often use a Compact floor tool on mine and I mean to tell you the suction is fantasic, sounds like a hurricane!! If it would just have had an electric power nozzle it would have been perfect.

Well, yes, but you have to admit the Turbo tool it comes with is certainly nothing to sneeze at....

The Constellation sure picks up all the stray cat litter with ease as well as whatever else is on the floor. I am sure it is better than an upright with hose attachment.

Ross

I guess when the Constellation was first re-introduced, I was under the impression that there was going to be a version with the electric power nozzle, I guess my source was incorrect. Either way, it is a pretty decent little canister, perfect for what Ross needs.

There is a floor nozzle for carpeting. It is not a power nozzle but since I have all ceramic tile floors, I give it to the Hoover store and they give me a floor brush in exchange.
