My name is Ethan, and I am a bit of a vintage appliance nerd! My main thing is trucking and farming (I drive tri-axle and quad-axle dump trucks and do farming on the side) so I am a major gear head! My main hobby is virtual farming and I collect 1/64 scale farm equipment. I am also a lifelong fan of Cadillac and I already had one HD pickup so I bought my dream car last year (a short wheelbase 2011 Escalade Platinum) for my 2nd. My vacuum is a beautiful 1986 K31X with a that was bought as a "bootleg" machine from a dealer in 1989 by my grandma. I bought it from her in 2013. Mixer is a 1977 KitchenAid K45, blender is a 1980s Oster 16 speed. I can fix about anything.

Welcome aboard Ethan! Think you will be right at home here! You'll soon find that several members here have other vintage appliances beside vacuum cleaners. I also have about 7 vintage Lawn-Boy mowers, the oldest being a model 3100 from 1957, and this year we did most of our mowing with a 5234 (I think that's the right model number) from 1966.

Thanks! My next mower will probably be a Lawn-Boy. I cut my grass a little taller to get lines. If I ever buy a place with a big enough back yard, I will get a 1980s John Deere 430 Diesel (looks like a miniature 4850)

Thank you. I am working towards making a 1:2 scale finished product, with three wheels and one bench seat, which is a 'velomobile' that requires no license or registration to drive. I am making the 1:8 from card, 4.5/6mm dowel, hot glue and small amounts of cellotape.

Very cool! I want to see it when it's done! I have built stuff like that before.

Hope you're planning on getting a vintage Lawn-Boy. Don't think they're making them anymore to begin with, and any of the ones in the last several years they were built didn't even deserve to wear the Lawn-Boy name. I think when they were bought out by Toro it was the beginning of the end.
