New Filter Queen

I have the 75th Anniversary model it was the one before the 360, anyway I love the new power nozzle and the wand set up. The only thing I don't like about the new Filter Queens are you have to turn them on with the Red button on top with your hand where the older style ones you just stepped on the switch sticking out the side of the machine. And they feel so light now when you pick them up not like the good old all metal ones..

I also have the plastic body FQ machines with the newer powernozzle-to be honest-like the older powernozzle better-the adjustable floor height control. Also the headlight. For the machine-do prefer the all metal ones-not only becuase of the metal-but more powerful motors in the older models.Tried it with a suction meter and Baird guage. The older machines developed more suction and CFM.Just feel the new all plastic models are more "flimsy".The one I have does have a translucent dust bin-it is sort of neat to see the stuff you pick up swirling inside.Dyson folks would like that.Offhand I can't remember what model type it is-was the version before the "360"Have the 75th model-got at a yard sale-when I bought it its handle was a beacon to me--"STOP!Its a vacuum cleaner handlebar"The machine had all of its parts and a supply of cones.I did have to unclog the wand, hose and powernozzle. Was full of Christmas tree needles and tinsel. And the last user didn't have a cone in the machine under the powerdome.Had to replace the motor filter under the cone guard.the machine works OK now.And oh yes do prefer the "paddle" type power switch-they used to use the red rocker switch to select speeds.Healthmor--Please bring back the more powerful motor, metal body(brushed SS would be cool and durable)and a choice of powernozzles-the newer one or the older version.Or--put a height adjust and headlight in the newer one.

What do you think of the new hose with the large handle when using the attachments (dusting brush, upholstery brush). To me it looks like it would be very awkward and cumbersome to use just like all the other similiar type handles on other vacs.

My mom had a '72 FQ with the step on toe switch. I wish the new ones had that also. And I don't know why they got rid of the headlight on the new PN.

Amemdment to my previous entry-the "newest" model FQ I have is the 75th Anniversary model-has a translucent blue dirt bin.The one from the yard sale is older and has a black plastic dirt bin with blue graphics. Will have to try and see if older tools fit newer machines and vice versa. The pump handle is nice-but can bed prone to clogging-IE the Xmas tree needles.Bet the higher power motor would help prevent that.(older metal machines)GEE wonder if the new gas pump handle will fit the older machines?Best of both worlds?

Love this ingenious Filter Queen Floor Nozzle...

I have always loved the little Swiffer + Vac rechargeable stick vac for doing floors - such a simple concept that helps clean floors of both large debris and fine, clingy dust. So, I always wondered why vac makers never bothered to design a bare floor attachment that would accomodate Swiffer Cloths - and here it is! Filter Queen did it....would love to get my hands on one, even though I imagine it is overpriced.
