VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Those have been in Finland quite a long time now. People seem to like them and they sell well. Not well as the V10 or V11, but well considering the 500€ (550$) price and not so well known (hyped) model. It seems to be impressive.
Biggest thing why I like it's idea is low center of gravity. It looks more like a upright than a stick vacuum. This means it's not so tiring for the forearm what V10/V11 is. Built in hose is also excellent idea.
Pure F9 has already won several group tests in the Europe. I really hope you guys in the USA get it too.
In the link Pure F9 vs Dyson V8 (I used automatic google translate to english).

I was looking at this the other day, I've read a couple of articles that referenced the possibility of it coming to North America, but both articles were from 2018. I think there's a pretty slim chance of it making its way over here. I did, however, find an Amazon listing for one shipping from Japan for $1500.

It really is unfortunate for a consumer shopping for a cleaner in North America these days. In the span of 20 years, we have lost Sweden’s Electrolux brand and Japan’s Panasonic brand. We can’t get Vorwerk here, nor Sharp or Hitachi or Karcher. It is really bad for the consumer here not to have a broader range of choices. And it’s not as if I could walk into Lowes or Best Buy and test drive a Kirby or Filter Queen or Rainbow either.

Addendum: It’s even worse up here in Canada: Miele stopped selling their great S7 uprights here years ago. That vacuum is one of the best carpet cleaning vacuums in the US market. I’d have to drive to Burlington, Vermont to get one now.

Electrolux

I'm not sure why Electrolux decided to totally pull out of the vacuum market here. Their ultra one canisters were really good, they also owned Beam and Sanitaire but they sold those companies. Actually I was not a big fan of the Beam central vacuums, there are far better brands of those such as Drainvac, Duovac, Canavac and Vacumaid. Actually the company that makes the Duovac brand purchased Beam from Electrolux, it will be interesting to see if those now become one in the same, many of the current Beam models have been discontinued.

Hi Mike...indeed, I found the canisters to be very good, though the more complicated they were (power nozzle canisters), the more they seemed to have problems needing repairs. But their suction-only canisters were great: we bought a highly-rated black UltraSilencer Green that is a pleasure to use and has never needed a repair in 6 years. Long hose, great carpet nozzle, really quiet and very clean emissions.

The new Pure D9 line of full-size canisters looks great. Would be a great addition to the line-ups in our vac stores...along with their new cordless stick vac.

Ok Mr. Squid...

You are right!

So which design do you like better?

Electrolux's motor in front (on top) with a sliding motion to adjust position, or the Miele motor in the back with a disassembly/reassembly required?

I prefer the Electrolux.  Performance not withstanding... that would require tests and comparisons across the board.
