so a new dyson vac is coming out. Curious to see if its the V12 and what features it'll have. I had a feeling dyson was about to release a new model. I say that because on their website they no longer make the v11 torque drive nor the v11 outsize, which are their higher two models. So how can dyson beat that.. hmm, curous? They do on the other hand have the v11 animal and outsize origin, which im going to be disappointed because i just bought the v11 a few months ago and now something new and great is coming out.

curious to what you all think this new dyson vac will be like and what features you think it'll have. I just hope it has the removable battery and digital countdown.

I always get very excited when Dyson do these teaser videos. The things that interests me are the green light and the x at the top unfortunately I don’t have any idea what it could be but I can’t wait to see what they have come up with

@kirbyg6

But I just bought my v11 outsize a few months ago. If this ones better than the one I got I will sadly regret bying my v11 outsize. I highly doubt dyson would put lights on their vacuums. Never in almost 30 years has a single dyson vacuum rather it be cordless or corded has had any type of light fixtures.

This has been stuck in my head for a day or two maybe the green
Light is trying to show us something

Dyson has trademarked TM names of V12 and V15 (no V13 for obvious reasons and no V14) also with the detect name after as well, so V12 detect and V15 detect! There is also Carbon Fibre 3 that has been TM too! So it may be that short clip on the home page refers to new pickup technology within the cleaner head and/or for it to detect something something it’s picking up! I’m sure we will all find out soon!

Wow that sounds very interesting do you know if both models are coming out at the same time

I’m not sure and there is no TM for either with Outsize against them yet! They would well launch both with the TM’s that have been registered. V16 to V20 are also registered TM’s by Dyson but no ‘detect’ versions of them!

Interesting there are patents filed nearly 2 years ago that have been published over the last few months or so that refer to the cleaner head one with a hollow deformable seal and others that mention about the brush bar being used on hard floors and wear and tear on the brush bar with a process without user having to switch it off for hard floors! Assuming it refers to the standard floor head on the cordless that has carbon fibre bristles for hard floor pick up nylon bristles for carpet cleaning in one brush bar!

yeah I don't see why they would skip v13 and v14. That just doesn't make sense to me. Then again I didn't understand why they skipped v9. Like they had the v8 and then went to v10. but never come out with a V9. I'm curious to see how dyson can improve on what is already the best cordless matchine, thats just my opinion, on the market today. I just hope they don't get rid of the removable battery and digital display/countdown on these models. Like thats the whole reason why I got the v11 outsize in the first place. I like knowing the exact runtime I have left on my machine. Yeah the 3 bar lights are great on the v11 animal and v10 series and v8. but its not as accurate and percise as the digital timmer on the higher end models. Curious to when these new models are getting relase. Hopefully within the next week or so.

Also off topic for a second. But does anyone have any idea on when kirby will release a new model. I ask that because the Avalir 2 (really sentria 4) has been out for 3 years now and quite frankly its starting to get old if you ask me.

I think this will be the year hopefully but I bet it will still look like an avalir but with a new colour scheme and a tweak here and their so I’m not getting my hopes up

@kirbyg6

Well hopefully someone in Kirby reads these threads and take some ideas and pass it on to the engineering and design department. I really hope they don't come out with another color scheme and call it a new model. Because lets be honest even avalir 2 isn't a full complete color change. Don't get me wrong the black and blue looks nice but its not a big noticable color change compare to sentria 1 to sentria 2. At lease with those models kirby changes the colors completely as well as the pattern scheme between the two. when they went from avalir 1 to avalir 2 they only really changes the accent colors from red to blue and kept the same pattern scheme. The overall color is still the same, which is black. God forbid they come out with another avalir (another sentria model) with the same black color but with a new accent color. Don't get me wrong kirby is a good brand and i've grown up using them, but times have changes and I think Kirby needs to listen to what the customers really want. Also they should bring back the video owners manual and just posted to YouTube. Those short clips of the avalir 2 just aint cutting it.

According to dyson's facebook page the new technology, and yes its a cordless technology, will be revealed this Wednsday, the 24th. Oh I can hardly wait to see. Hopefully it won't make me regret getting the v11 outsize, but knowing dyson its gonna be a hit, which will probably make me regret the v11. I should know by now base off of the pass 3-4 years that dyson tends to release their new cordless technology in late march/early april. This is kind of like what apple does every September when they release a new iphone and other apple products.

It’s strange V14 is missed out but I can understand why they missed V13 out as they never did to my knowledge a DC13! A lot of companies, manufacturers and builders don’t like numbering something 13 as they see it as an unlucky number!
Be interesting to see if their development and research on solid state batteries makes an appearance or they still have some way to go with that. I’m sure they’ll be squeezing out more power and runtime from the battery and a more power dense motor without the added weight, or any more energy used. I’m sure they will keep the display screen and count down runtimes on the battery usage!

I can not see any confirmed date on Dyson’s website of Facebook page! They do tend to launch new vacuum cleaners yearly but they didn’t really realise anything totally new apart from the V11 Outsize and updates to the standard V11 lineup! With Dyson only doing cordless machines now and at present the stick form you may find they do less launches with only having this one design. Or there is a big improvement with a new model over the current one! Saying that the V10!was followed a year later by the V11 so time will tell in the future!

Well when I checked their Facebook page a half hour ago it had that glow light, the same one on the dysons website, and at the top it says something about the reveal being on 3/24/21, which is this Wedsnday. This may sound crazy but hopefully the v11 doc will work with this new model as it would be silly to have to keep releasing a new doc once a new model keeps coming out. I would like to see the battery packs themselves hold an hour or so on each power level, that way you can get the run time and the suction on each setting. Or another thing Id like to see is if they can scale down the weight of the batteries but also increase the runtime. I can't see dyson changing the trumpet style of the machine when it comes to emptying it. I mean they already perfected the emptying method.

Must of removed it! Doesn’t appear when I checked. Least the reveal is very soon.

Yeah unless they change the shape of the battery housing! They have on the Omni-guide models that have the battery in the straight handle!

Longer runtimes, denser batteries, lighter in weight and quick charge times will come once solid state battery technology is launched. Something Dyson is working on! No the in line style will probably stay at least for a while! Unless they have a new design on this release!

Very exciting news and I really hope that one of them is something else than a stick vacuum. I mean Dyson has the technology and performance (for a cordless vacuum), but just making bigger and bigger stick vacuums is not for me. Stick vacuum is fine if it's light. After V10 they just got too heavy & uncomfortable to use.
I have been hoping some time now Dyson to design cordless compact upright. That would solve the handle weight problem. Not to mention bigger bin, bigger motor and bigger battery, longer run time, onboard hose etc. I mean not too big obviously.
A lot of people like stick vacuums and Dyson will always make them, but they are not for everyone. A lot of people still like their ball uprights.
So let's hope cordless Dyson upright is coming :)

I wonder if they ever will make anything other than the stick form they have adapted currently for their cordless range!? From what you read and interviews from Dyson and James Dyson himself it’s seems they are happy to go down the stick format. Their mantra seems to be ever smaller, lighter and more powerful so be interesting to see in the future if they steer away or add a different cordless format to the lineup! To Dyson the stick format is what they think works for quick cleans, versatility etc..etc...but as they try to cover and please different home setups small, medium and large then you start to add size and weight to that setup!
Maybe once their solid state battery technology is launched it may open up more possibilities for different cordless vacuum forms from Dyson.

I hope on this machine they made like a lock switch so that you don’t have to keep your finger on the trigger all the time

Yes it will be interesting to see if the trigger is still present! The Omni-Glide models have a power button in place of the trigger but that may be down to the new handle design on them! Saying that I’m surprised they used a power button on these as the runtime is only 20 mins but they are designed I think for quick cleans!

Can someone explain to me what solid state batttery technology is? Also do you think dyson will just present it on its website or do you think they'll do some sort of presentation launch event like they did with the v10.

@juju93 here is a brief overview of a form of solid state batteries:

“A solid-state battery is a battery technology that uses solid electrodes and a solid electrolyte, instead of the liquid or polymer gel electrolytes found in lithium-ion or lithium polymer batteries.”

This new battery technology will enable light in weight batteries, dense energy storage, longer runtimes and quick charging times. Better life cycle so they last longer. These are things that are being mentioned with this new battery technology! Dyson and other Manufacturers are looking at developing their own versions of it especially the EV car markets!

It’s hard to say how they will launch it, would think some sort of presentation as the post that they mentioned the launch date mentions ‘see it in action’

In a way that make since, especially since dyson cordlesses have gone up in weight through the years due to the increase weight in the batteries. I mean hey the v11 torque and v11 outsize weigh the most simply due to there bigger battery packs. Well actually all v11 variants have a noticable weight difference compare to older models. I'm dying to see if we finally have an 8lb or over lol. One thing I don't understand is why did they remove the v11 torque and outisze but yet kept the v7 and v8 series machines. Doesn't dyson tend to get rid of there older models when the newer ones come out. I could see them doing away with the v8 as thats pushing 5 years old and the v7 is pushing 4. Can't see dyson doing away with the v10 nor v11 models and the various variants they comes in. Also does anyone know why they got rid of there handheld options because its not an option on their website anymore.

Have they not replaced the V11 Outsize with the V11 Outsize Origin?
Dyson usually scale down the current model that was last launch before a new model launch..previous history! As they are only developing and launching new cordless models maybe they want to keep the older cones like the V7 and V8 as like entry level models in the market place! Apparently the V8 was their fastest selling cordless to date!! I would think base models or so of the V10 and V11 will remain on sale. Plus they are sort of limited with their range/models now only having one cordless variant - stick format! Hence the older cordless models still available. Whereas they had Uprights, canisters, cordless handhelds, cordless stick machines and now they just develop the cordless stick format!

The outsize origin was already out when the regular outsize came out. They actually lauched together. The only difference is the color and also the origin comes with only one battery and one charger, whereas the regualr outsize comes with two batteries and 2 chargers. I will say that gold on the origin is tacky looking to me. Thank goodness I got my outsize origin (thats what its defined as), from HSN so I didn't have to get it in that tacky gold color. Less than 24 hours to go yall. I'm so excited.
