Very well made points, Eurekaprince... I always take those ratings with a grain of salt. When I worked at Hoover, it was always amusing to see customers walk in with their newest edition of "Consumer Reports" in arm, and make their shopping decisions based solely on those reviews. Of course, when there was a Hoover in the #1 spot, that was good for us... but #1 or not, we would always try and explain to the customer that no test they perform is true for every single household/situation, and that people should use those reports as guidelines when making their decisions... not base their decision solely on what CU said to buy. We won some, we lost some. LoL
Alaskabob: How's Anchorage this time of year? I have a friend who lives in Anchorage.. always wanted to visit. I agree with you about the Tempo. When the Windtunnel first came out, what you know as the Tempo these days was the BOL Windtunnel model. You couldn't get one (even the BOL model) for less than $200. If one has only carpet to clean -- the Tempo and the Bagged Windtunnel that's a step up from that Tempo (the $119/$129 model) are usually what I recommend. The SP Windtunnel has even fallen to $159 at Costco ... just can't beat them for carpet cleaning, if one wants a bagged cleaner.
