New Aerus Lux Guardian Platinum Canister Vacuum Cleaner

It seems that many Vacuumlanders are very excited about the new Aerus Platinum canister vac. Just would like to know two things about this cool-looking vacuum:

1. Is the 110-volt version of this vac made in the USA? Or is it assembled at the Aerus plant in Mexico? Or is it made in Europe like the 220-volt Lux Intelligence or Australia's Sauber Intelligence (see video clip below)?

2. I know you can store the crevice tool and the combination dusting/furniture tool on the wand. But where do you store the flip-over floor tool and the mini power nozzle? Does Aerus provide a nice tool-caddy for all the attachments like they use to provide? Something to hang in the closet perhaps?

I'm sure you guys know the answers to these questions!!!

Someone on the forum said that the European plant is manufacturing them for now, but the Bristol plant will assemble them. Perhaps they will make them at Bristol at some point. Sauber is just the business name for Lux machines in Australia. As far as I know they import them and put Sauber on it. I don't believe Aerus provides a caddy for canisters. They still do for uprights. The caddy's only hold non-electric wands. The combo floor tool and the Sidekick III are not stored anywhere.

The Platinum canister along with its sisters the Sauber and Lux Intelligence is made in the EU, while the attachments and hose are made in Bristol, VA from US suppliers. There are no storage provisions for Sidekick III or combo rug and floor tool. Those that wish can add the wall caddy that ships with the CentraLux. Most Lux branches have them in stock.

Hey Brian...that's good to know! You can buy a matching Aerus tool caddy which is usually used for the central vacuum systems! That's a great solution....

My aerus dealer gave me a wall caddy and hose hanger with my platinum but I really don't use the wall caddy for anything other than the floor flip brush. The duster/ upholstery brush and crevice tool, I keep on the wand caddy and the side kick I just stick in the corner of the closet cause it doesn't stay in the wall caddy.

I seem to remember a nice beige plastic tool caddy that came with the Aerus uprights which had a dedicated slot for the Side Kick nozzle. Would this not work for the SideKick III?

There was for the Sidekick's first version. I believe the Sidekick II and III are shaped differently. Where the first one was a square, the others have curves. I'm not sure if they would fit it, one could try it.

This would definitely be a nice selling feature that other vac-makers no longer provide. Aerus should make a nice plastic hangable tool caddy for the Platinum canister which could hold all the attachments plus some dust bags and the intruction manual. It could really make the product more attractive compared to the competition. Having a portable tool caddy is such a help when cleaning with a hose and attachments....

I was wondering the very same thing. I was thinking maybe the floor tool could fit on the machine side where the wand park is located. I really like the fact that my Rainbow has a place for the floor brush storage and it came with a chrome storage door rack for the tools and hose. I have really enjoyed using the door storage and having all the tools at eye level.
I think your idea about buying the hanging rack for the hose and flip over tool, which is something I would need to use every time the unit was taken out of the closet.
I also hope they correct the need for the additional piece to use the hand tools.
This should be an exciting time for Aerus with this new updated machine.

I have the new Rainbow also. Where/how do you store the floor tool on it? I tried putting it where the cord storage is but it doesn't really seem to fit very well and falls off.

Good Morning Gary,
Here is a picture of how my fuller brush snaps on the cord holder of the Rainbow. I use my machine every day so I just loop the power cord and drop it over the tool neck for easy storage. I like to able to quick change from the power nozzle to the fuller brush straight suction tool for the hardwood floors by just stepping on the wand quick release and snap the wand onto the floor brush.
I hope this helps. It will not fall off if it is snapped in place.

Here is the chrome door tool storage rack that came with my machne. It will hold all the tools and the Rainbowjet wet floor cleaner. It will fit over the top of a door way or it can also be bolted to the wall. I love not having to hunt for the tools and it keeps the hose up off the floor for easy storage. I think it might promote a longer hose life too.
Note the real nice Rainbow nameplate at the top of the rack.
That new longer electrified wet/dry hose and stainless electric 2 piece wands are a real improvement over my old SE with 2 sets of hoses and wands to store.
Anyone who has a Rainbow will love this storage rack. I have mine on the back of the door and out of sight when not in use.

Thanks for the explanation and pics. I will have to try placing it that way. I did try it but with the neck of the floor brush facing down rather than up and it just did not seem to be a proper fit. I was afraid to put too much force and break the cord holder.

What extra piece are u talking about for the Aerus machine? Does that mean the adapter must be used for all tools? Do they NOT lock onto the hose/wands? Cuz I thought they did.

It is

just used for the combo dusting brush because you must flip it to use both sides .All other attachments fit directly to the end of hose and wands .

I had to ask the Rainbow dealer too. I kind of SNAPS in place. If you notice it is made JUST the same width of the dolly so it does not catch as you pull it along.
Just noticed your beautiful organ in your profile. What kind do you have? I still have my Hammond I bought WAY back in the 80's. Don't play anymore but just hated to give it up for some reason. Here is my Hammond.
Now back to the Aerus Platinum thread.
I hope Aerus are at our Home Show coming this week end,so I can take a look at the new Lux.

Now I understand it. Yes I figured that tool had to have an adapter to flip. You know that could be easily remedied by reversing the hose/wand connections/ make the hose end slim down skinnier and place the contacts further up so they go INTO the wand with it's connections deeper inside. But then again, I'm no engineer. Thanks Kirbyloverdan for answering my many questions, I want it so bad now.

they had the skinny wands in the past , the wands they use now create more airflow thats why they use them . I love the two piece wands and they are not heavy or bulky at all to me . You will be quite pleased once you do get your Platinum .

If Aerus would get rid of that bulky hose handle and wands and return back to the pistol grip with telescopic wand, the Platinum would be almost perfect

I never really noticed that the floor brush is the same width as the dolly. I'll have to check it out.

The organ is a Lowrey Prestige. I only started playing about 7 years ago. I am teaching myself. How come you do not play anymore?
