I forgot all my old log-in info, so I'm back again. That being said, what was the last Bissell machine that was worth a damn? You know, one that was worth the price it ran for?

The older models were the ones that I liked the best. Especially the ones that Royobi made even though they were copies of the Elites. If I were to choose which Bissell that I would desperately buy in a heart beat, I would pick the 3512 which was also made by Royobi.

Even today, the upright Bissell Big Green carpet cleaner that they've sold for a few years now is excellent. I've never used a portable carpet cleaner that worked anywhere near as well. Recently let a friend borrow mine, and they too were blown away by how great of a job it did erasing all the stains from their white carpeting.

Bissell's quality has been all over the place for decades, but thankfully, they're still capable of occasionally making great products.

Bissell 3760-1 Lift-off Revolution?

It worked good for a Bissell and even had brush roll shut off (which forsome reason turned off the headlight) and the plastic felt like a higher quality than the one now. Only problem it was a pain to clean.

I had a Bissels Clean View Bagless plus upright what a beast that one i like alot first bag less that did not leak all over i replace the stretch hose whit a shop vac hose major improvement i dont like stretch hose so i went to a conventional one

Stretch hoses

I don't like them due to the fact they cause more airflow loss than a non stretch hose. The stretch hose on my Simplicity S40P has about 77 cfm when it's compressed when stretched i've never used my anemometer stretched on it but the baird meter drops down to 0 which would be around 45 cfm. If you use a non stretch 15' hose you can get about 82 CFM which was measured on the anemometer. I also had a Lindhaus Healthcare Pro a while back which came with a stretch hose replacing it with a non stretch hose increased it's flow.

Sure, stretch hoses are convenient they store compactly but they often have a narrower interior diameter due to the material being folded inwards. When extended they have deep ridges and this negatively effects airflow.
