Need help with Regina ElectrikBroom

I recently received this regina electrikbroom from an older lady and I noticed the nozzle angle isn't right. in order for the pivot to work correctly the machine has to be facing almost backwards, but not quite. At first I thought the fan cover was on wrong but the screw pattern only allows it to go on one way. Is there a way the white piece could have twisted? It seems in there pretty solid and its got me pretty stumped.. Any suggestions?

I had one very simiar to that model and from the best I can remember, the nozzle just slips in where the white plastic meets the blue plastic. It may be wedged in pretty good, so it might requre some superhuman strength to get it pulled out, but I don't remember them being locked in by anything and I just checked the older one I have sitting here in my office and it appears to simply slide in as well. That's a great looking Electrikbroom though, once you get that nozzle turned around properly, I believe it will be a great one for you!

thanks, I got it sorted with a pair of vice grips. I do have another question, do you know what the air pulse switch does?

Air pulse switch makes a lot of noise, it frees up a plastic valve that "vibrates" back and forth simulating a vibrating action to "help" get sand, grit and dirt out of carpets, all it does is adds more noise to an already noisy Electrikbroom.

is that what that flapping noise is? it never goes away completely, but does get a little louder with the air pulse ON. Is the flap supposed to fold all the way down with it off because mine doesn't. Is there a good chance I'll be able to get the nozzle back together if I take it apart? I want to clean the inside but the last time I took apart a electrikbroom nozzle I had a very hard time getting it back together with the stupid springs, but the nozzle was different than this one.

That nozzle is pretty east to take apart and you will be amazed at the crap that will come out of it. Just make sure you slowly take it apart and keep track of how so you can get it back together right. The little springs can be a bitch but not to bad. Also you should take the fan nut off and get the fan out because there usually is hair and gunk behind the fan.

If you need help with the nozzle let me know. I have done hundreds of them. They are a piece of cake after you get the hang of them. After you get the bottom off you will see gobs of dirt in there. Be very careful because hiding in some of that dirt may be those springs which suspend the two brush strips when the rug pile dial is set. They have there own round cavity they set in but sometimes will become dislodged. After you locate the springs you can pull out the suction piece which is the long white strip that concentrates the suction to the floor, the brush strips and the elbow which is held in with a small retainer piece. I like to sink clean the entire assembly with awesome and some magic erasers and a tooth brush. They usually come out looking near new after doing this and the rug dial will work so much better at ejecting the brush strips with a clean head.

BTW your 3 speed cleaner looks to be a late 1979 or early 80 model. Good luck with it,
