I have been working on cleaning a Singer System SST460 vacuum, which I recently got at the thrift store for $7.99. The price wan an absolute steal, considering the fact that the vacuum had virtually nothing wrong with it (needed to be cleaned, may need a bulb replacement, and a few small holes in the bag). The problem is, I had taken the motor out when I was cleaning it, and I can't seem to get the motor back in! Also for those who don't know, the SST460 is a two speed model with a twin fan. I'm mostly struggling with getting the motor pulley and the fan back in. Any ideas?

I have taken quite a few of those apart. Make sure the field coil lines up the notch at the bottom of the base housing. The belt pulley should screw back on you will have to reach underneath it to screw it back in. Also, make sure the washers are in the correct position if you took those off. I've damaged a fan because the washer was not in the correct orientation. Keep the brush wires routed away from the commutator.
