Need Help with a Sebo Power Nozzle

I just recently acquired a Sebo C3.1 with a ET1 power nozzle. 


I got it for a song compared to the prices of Sebos on ebay.  The listing said Nozzle needed a belt.  It didn't. 


 


The belt is in fine condition, however, the power nozzle is non working.  It does give me a light when it is in straight suction mode, but dead when asked to turn the brushroll on.


 


This is my first experience with a Sebo, so the first time I was into one was Saturday.   Are there any fuses I should be looking for?  I made the assumption that the nozzle was getting power as it would light the orange/yellow light for straight suction.  The brushroll is free turning, and no obstructions. 


 


I am open to you experts.

Not an expert in any way, but I do have the larger canister (D4 Premium, or something like that), and I think it has a similar powerhead if not identical.

Things to try: remove the brush (unlatch the side and pull the brush out), and see if the motor runs without the brush. You are trying to locate where the resistance is coming from, because the power nozzle has a sensitive Hall sensor that stops the motor when it thinks the brush is blocked.

Any number of things could be wrong from the belt to the sensor to the circuit board or the motor might be overloading for some other reason.

I never had the problem you are having, but I can tell you that the sensor stops the motor on a a couple of rugs that I have that have very long or very deep pile. Even on the highest setting (4), the suction is too strong and the brush motor stops after 3 seconds or so -- the fix is to lower the suction down to medium or so, and it will clean the rugs just fine, it just takes a bit longer due to lower suction.

I guess in hindsight a better descriptor could be, "I bought a broken Sebo on purpose and as you can imagine, it cost much less than one that works. Now how do I fix it?"

Other than your sarcasm I guess I have failed to see your contribution.  Thank you for your insight.  


 


When I said bought for a song $60, as opposed to the $699- they are trending at, I still got a good price even if I have to replace the power nozzle.  The canister, hose and nozzle are all in very good condition, so I don't feel cheated in the least.


 


I dropped it off at the Sebo dealer last night.  He thinks it may be soldered joint on the circuit board.  He will test and give me an estimate by tomorrow.


 


The average user/seller don't have a clue, I have found.  I recently purchased an Oreck for $20, posting said "Wife smelled a burning smell and bought a new vacuum."  It needed a belt.


 


I will more than likely continue pressing my luck when it comes to "good" purchases.
