I recently got a Eureka ESP 2068AY from 1981 and have only found one ad that features it. If anyone has a catalog, brochure, magazine, or any other form of advertisement (excluding the video shown here) that includes this model that they would be willing to post, that would be greatly appreciated! It has a yellowy - beige colored hood with a white bumper, a gray bag with a stripe that says Eureka, a and the later style headlight featured on models such as the 2087 or 1447. I'm also not sure how rare this model is, or what tier (price, features, overall quality) it would have been. If you know those details, those would also be greatly appreciated!

vintage_vac.fan,

Hi and welcome to VL!

Congrats on scoring your Eureka ESP model-type 2068-AY. I located newspaper ads for it from 1980-1982; but production may have ended in 1981 when the new ESP 6.5-amp motor was introduced. The ads that referenced the type included -A, -AY, and -Z. These may have indicated styling or part differences, or where it was marketed; and were primarily used for company or service techs' references. One difference may have been the bag cover, which is illustrated as dark rather than light in a couple ads; although advertisers sometimes erred and used incorrect line drawings, features, or models. As far as I can tell, the model 2087 in Brandywine & white, has the same features as the 2068 and was equipped with a Brandywine bag cover; so that line drawing may have been used. If yours has a dark bag cover, the mystery will be solved; otherwise it will remain an unknown unless photos of the 2068-A and 2068-Z are ever posted or seen.

I hope you'll post some photos of it as I have found no others online. A parts list named its main color as blue; although for some reason I thought it was Cinnamon; as a color companion to the model 2062.

Enjoy viewing the attached ads and Euphoric Eurekaing!

Just looked at my list and noticed that the 2087 has 2 speeds and a fingertip switch, so I guess its features differ from the 2068.
