For full on restoration of a plastic part magic eraser is not the ticket. But to make a well used vac look much younger & ready to be well used some more, it's just the ticket. Most all vac plastic that you can see without disassembly has a very shinny high gloss surface, almost like glass, which dulls very easily, be it magic eraser or even degreasing type cleaning products. This vac was never gonna be a "vault" item but rather something to be used again, & thus scuffed up more down the line. On vintage vacs i plan on selling on Ebay i'm taking a, " do no harm" approach. Better to do nothing than clean something & loss something forever.
 
I knew exactly what it was by the 2nd picture. I prefer a product called novice for cleaning plastics, but don't rub heavily or try not to at all over any section with lettering/decal on it. No matter the condition, an Elite 200 is always worth it.
