So I just got a cleanview 2 but gave it to my friend so he can fix it but I got it and it smells terrible. It also sounds terrible. He told me that it was used after the hurricanes to suck up water because he found water in the motor so he is airing the whole machine out. It even sounds like it has water in it. Anyways it looks ok but is not internally. It smells like a mix of dish detergent and dog poop. Here are some pictures of it.

Gunk is probably stuck to the blades of the fan after all that water damage. It's still possible to find that model used if you look around and be patient. I would just hold out and wait for another one; water damage is pretty irreversible. Grab any good parts off your red one just in case :)

After hearing it again I don't think it was water damage. I think the motor bearings and carbon brushes need to be replaced. I think the previous owner just put the filter back in when it was wet because nothing else was wet when I got it but the motor itself had no water in it.

My friend is going to the vacuum store today to pick up a black one and put that motor in the red one

I actually used to have a red cleanview ii special edition model. I found it in the trash back in November 2009 till I gave it to a good friend around 2014. I would like to find a black and blue one with the turbo brush.
