I picked up my first Electrolux shampooer today. It is a 2101, when was it sold? Anyways, it came with these weird looking nap lifters. How does one use these? Is there any advice on using these machines?

Thanks!

Guy

1985 to1990 (?)

What color combo, Guy? These were just exhaustively threaded here 5 weeks back - see link - and the year can be deduced from the facts set forth there.

Only cautionary advice I can offer is ... Don't try using the nap lifters on that vintage shaggy shag carpet with the 2 inch tufts. Worse than trying to separate two amorous doggies.
Just kidding but then again, while it might be tempting to try it, the nap lifters with the triple sets of free-wheeling 'star' wheels are meant for fluffing pile carpets up to an inch deep, after shampooing and before fully dried. NOT SHAG CARPETING!!! For this you want the Electrolux Shag Carpet Nozzle. Or the KIRBY Carpet Rake.

Thanks Dave,

I guess that explains why the 1st room that I did has swirl marks in the carpet! The one I got is taupe and a charcoal blue. Do you ever use yours?

Were these also available in the US?

Guy

Swirl marks could look nice on the right carpet, I think. :-) Sorta like a Zen inspired sand garden. A bastard to maintain tho since folks will want to walk on it ruining the effect. LOL

I haven't yet had the chance to use wine except to skim over a painted floor for fun.

But I think Pete used his to scrub off a neighbor's back deck planking after she was getting nowhere fast with a pressure washer...Pete - tell us about it?

Next question. Were these type of triple brush polisher scrubber waxer machines available to the USA market? Or Canada only like our Electrolux Canada vacuum models? I don't know.

Could you American or European guys answer that?
