Help, please. Been going through the parts bin and these two items have me perplexed...

First, what vacuum would this brown rubber, natural bristle dusting brush belong to? Note the long connecting slot with larger end hole on the metal pipe, one on each side.

Second, over on the right, I have this really nice condition orphaned brown 9 foot vinyl hose with only one end connector, which could conceivably be either the vacuum or wand end. It sure seems to be Hoover flex hose material but the latch/button configuration doesn't fit any vacuum I have.

By comparison with the middle post-swiveltop G.E hose you can see the button-to-latch distance is greater and does not fit any of my G.E.s either, tho it has the same diameter and fits in the socket.

Thanks, guys.

Mmm, gonna have to find a Hoover to go with it. :-) You mean an upright Hoover model?

And now I've got a nice airtight saran weave hose when the right GE comes along. Post-Swiveltop I assume.

That brush sure doesn't fit my 700s...or the 30.

The Brown Hose

...goes with the attachment set for Hoover Models 29 and 62.

The 62 was the first vacuum in our household, purchased in 1952, and I know it well.

The torn off hose end was the longer of the two and attached to the tools; the only one ramaining on this particular hose was the shorter of the two and attached to the converter which slipped into the right side of the cleaner after you pressed down on the back of the base of the cleaner to release the opening.

The same type hose was also used in the later areodynes but the ends were very different.

I see it now, Bruce. Compared it to my blue/pink 716 rear converter tool set which uses the standard Hoover outside flat spring latch with the round catch. I'll be looking for a side converting 29 and/or 62, a converter and a tool end now, to go with this lovely hose. LOL

Alan, thanks. I won't be overlooking those 1960s GEs anymore when I see 'em. :-)

Dave - off today to deliver The Irrepressible Felix to the Vet where he is scheduled to have his manhood...uhm...restrained, on Monday. Going way out of town to where he came from to save $100 on the 'big city' neutering fees. Here in Stratford we have 5 vet offices where the best price I was quoted is $150 up to over $200!!!
