I bought a Hoover 800 today, the 1934 version. When I got it home the plastic carrier bag holding the tools also contained this 80's or 90's(?) vacuum bag. The cloth bit is oatmeal coloured and the plastic bits are brown. Its got a disposable paper bag inside it but apart from the word lui on the top closer its unmarked. Anyone know what it fits? It's in perfect condition if a little dusty, worth putting on ebay or is it for the bin?

Hey

I'm guessing but o fountain fill for eureka or Hoover upright 70-80s. I almost positive. It's top fill and it's eureka or Hoover. Royal Kirby don't have bags like that and eureka and Hoover were the upright using these bags. I'd think a Hoover as eureka usually are vinyl bags. I'm not sure on value $20 maybe.

Why would you throw out perfectly functional and working vacuum parts? You know these are not made anymore right? Now I see why stuff that is common in the USA is so rare in the UK, everyone just throws it out!

Definitely do not trash it yet - it is in too good a shape for that.
Lets wait until the experts here can identify its maker and/or application and put it out on ebay for the lowest bid price to make it worth your while to deal with. You never know, you may get quite a bit for it.
Vintage parts are difficult to find, especially wear items like vacuum bags. If a restorer wants it, they may be willing to pay a bit for it.

We should wait for our European vacuum experts to offer their thoughts and ideas. It seems that this unique upright bag is from a European manufacturer since it looks unfamiliar to us here in North America. Could be from a Goblin or an AEG or a Moulinex vac, since “scoover” is in the UK.

Thanks for your comments gentlemen, I have not thrown it away, and I am unlikely to.

Just prodding a little for responses ;).

I assume that the "lui" printed on the closer may be Italian for top? so from an Italian machine. I have no use for this as I only do pre war Hoover. If anyone can identify it and has a need for it I'll gladly pass it on...

Yeah,

I looked it up too. Since it doesn't make any sense I wondered if it's just one of those things where a seemingly unrelated word has come to mean something else. Though I cannot find any evidence on the internet that backs my theory up. If someone knows what it is maybe they can shed some light.....

If it helps any, I might guess that this is for a European upright with the bag attached to the front of the handle like an Oreck or a Hoover Elite. Maybe a German “Macdonald” upright? The beige colour seems to suggest a Moulinex.

Were there any Italian floor polisher+vacuums that had a bag on the front?

Just taking guesses here....

Pretty good looking guesses...

Had a look at your suggested machines, not knowing much about this era. It does look like it came off a Hoover Elite, though maybe an aftermarket replacement as it's unbranded. Thanks for that. Anyone confirm this or indeed need such a thing?

Idk

I looks like it fits eureka or Hoover vacuums. I'm guessing fountain fill as the bag hole is at the top. If it's American it's eureka or Hoover. The eureka/sanitairre still have same body. So if it fits an 89s machine it would fit a newer eureka sanitairre vacuum. It could be a generic bag for either but it will fit a few vacuums. Seeing random Bojack people do on bags this has a general universal fit. It can fit many vacuums and it looks like it wouldn't look Bojack vacuums. If it fits use it.

mystery bag

That no 'LU11', colour scheme says 1980s Electrolux wide sweep 300 watt light model upright; with white nylon dirty fan. Two long straight replaceable brush strips.

NOISEY machines from what I remember.

Tool adaptor plate fitted under the roller brush chamber opening.

Regards, Walter.
